Boards Archive] |
Welcome to the Vault Network
forum archive.
This is not a complete archive, time didn't allot us the
opportunity to properly backup the majority of the boards
deemed "expendable". Most boards on this list have at least
20-40 pages archived (non-logged in pages, 15 topics per
page).
Popular boards may have as many as 250 pages archived at 50
topics per page, while others deemed of historical
signifigance may be archived in their entirety.
We may not agree with how the board shutdown was managed, but
we've done what we could to preserve some of its history in
lieu of that.
Please enjoy the archive.

Q: About a feature for a Buff Bot program
|
Are there any buff bot features that have these features?
1) Ability to refuse buffs to anyone ABOVE a certain level? (ie be able to set a variable that will not allow buffs to anyone ... except maybe Guildmates ... over say level 150 ... unless they pay?) Maybe allow it once per hour or twice a day or something, but not constantly.
2) Ability to prevent anyone (except Guildmates) from getting more than 1 set of "combat buffs" more than x times per x hours?
I'm getting sick of buffing "gimps" who are level 150+ and can't self buff. I'm also getting sick of PKers who take my 2 hour buffs, die in 5 minutes, then come again.
Yes, I could sort through logs, but that is the point of automation, to be able to make easy rules then apply them automatically.
I still want to provide a free buffing service to my guildmates, and anyone who NEEDS it (ie n00bs trying to avoid the mindless grind of the first 100 or so levels of this 7 year old game), but I don't want it to be abused by high level leeches and PKers.
Are there any existing buff bot programs out there that include anything like this or are planning to?

Good idea , my suggestion for this would be to allow tinker/ trade buffs to be cast.

insane bot could handle most of that if you were good at setting stuff up.
only trouble is insane bot don't work with decal3, author too busy updating decal to update insane
MAYBE we luck out with the eventual demise of eltank (general purpose out of the box start up buff bot) and it put some pressure on the author to get insane working again.
bacuase the other buff bot type program is very confusing if you've never used it, i've found almost NO documtation on it.
