Help - Dual moniter set up w/DualClient
|
I just got my dual moniters set up on my computer and am trying to get my two accounts set up seperately on each moniter. I can't find any information in the ACDualClient software to help me.
I have a NVidia GeForce 7300 GS graphics card running on Windows XP, machine has 3gig speed and tons of memory etc. I have graphics card set on DualView, I can have different setting for each moniter, they are supposed to act independently. If anyone is able to use two moniters on same machine and use two accts simultaneously, please help me.
Thank You -

I have duals as well, but AC wasn't designed to run in this manner... I usually keep both clients on the same window because when dragged to the second monitor it gets real skippy and laggy. It could be my video card doesn't allocate much ram to the secondary monitor, or AC just doesn't get along with it.

Isn't there a feature where you can spread your desktop over two monitors, like havinge your desktop extended to the second monitor? If you did use windowed mode, you could put one client in one window and one client in the other window. Just a thought.

I had insane lag last time I tried a dual monitor set-up as well. Now I just run in windowed mode on one monitor.

Yea i noticed that with Desktop Cloned it cant run clients on each monitor, they have to be in the same view. But when I extend the Desktop where you can see the start bar run across the bottom of both I can run both clients in each monitor.
I was tossing the idea around of trying a second vid card to run the other monitor independantly, that would probably work as well...dunno yet

I have my two monitors set up to display different things, but the task bar is only on one screen (nvidia calls it "dualview"). I can run two clients in windowed mode on each monitor separately; however, I notice that when I have a client on my secondary (and lower res) monitor its performance is slightly degraded, even when single-logging.
In fact, I wrote a plugin to automatically move the AC window when it matches the resolution of one of my monitors. It moves the window such that the titlebar is offscreen, and the window is on the correct monitor (making it appear to be in full screen, and I can run two "full screen" clients like this). The AC window also happens to go in front of the task bar when it has focus, which is nice but not something I specifically coded it to do . The plugin is hard-coded to my monitor setup and I'm too lazy to make it configurable. If anyone wants, i can give them the source (C#).

I tested this the day that dual client came out after ToD. However, I actually found that with dual displays running, it was bogging down the rest of my system as well.. not only AC. I've since disconnected the second monitor and I didn't have any problem.
