I've been really digging Nick Zimmer of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs lately. The way he can fill the whole sonic soundscape with just a drummer (even one as awesome as theirs) is amazing.
Jonny Greenwood's still my favorite though.

Dan DeLeo of Stone Temple Pilots. The band gets/got lots of press, but you never hear much about him as a guitarist. He plays some really nice, creative parts.

holy ****, i didnt think anyone else ever heard of Chris Duarte. My dad has seriously fallen in love with his guitar work. Its all he ever raves about. His co-worker is the head of the fan club and gets free tickets to any of his shows, she travels around the country going to all his shows. My dad definatly sees him whenever he comes to the DC area.

"The Edge" is not underrated, because U2 sucks musically. They play the same assinine chordes over and over and over and over and over again because a record exuctive decided that those are the chordes that sell records.
U2 is the most musically uncreative band to find success since the Kingsmen.
