Boards Archive] |
Welcome to the Vault Network
forum archive.
This is not a complete archive, time didn't allot us the
opportunity to properly backup the majority of the boards
deemed "expendable". Most boards on this list have at least
20-40 pages archived (non-logged in pages, 15 topics per
page).
Popular boards may have as many as 250 pages archived at 50
topics per page, while others deemed of historical
signifigance may be archived in their entirety.
We may not agree with how the board shutdown was managed, but
we've done what we could to preserve some of its history in
lieu of that.
Please enjoy the archive.

This is what I used to run before ToD - I didn't use every feature on every plugin, but usually ran a plugin for that ONE key feature that was useful to me - anyway this is just daydreaming...
1) Bandit Chat - chat aliases, list of last 6 - 100 peeps who I've talked to.
2) Speaker - kept a list of canned speech, global across characters, so damn handy.
3) SortIt! - my most used plugin, source of my love/hate relationship with Gouru - equipping items & suits, sorting, and moving items to side packs. What ACArm used to do.
4) RoboChef - THE crafter plugin imho. Using the chest was a brilliant idea. If only it self-buffed.
5) Tinker Calc - Should be re-named Peace of Mind. Great plugin, esp. in it's later forms, where it would search all packs for salvage and sort by work. Made it very easy to tink safely. Only thing missing was showing the odds with and without brill (before you were actually brilled) - that would be handy.
6) Bandit Sight - no explanation needed here. I would almost rather play with BS/2 profiles than play AC - the game feels hollow without it.
7) Nerfus Buffus - Best self/other buffing plugin ever. Why? Easily user-configurable profiles. I really hope we see this one again.
8) Quest Timer - Updated and working well. Needs a way to track the new drop / raise timers - not an easy task.
9) House Keeper - Not used much, but when you buy a house, a must-have to setup access for other characters.
10) Combater - SO useful! Where do I start - shows XP of kill, kills to level, SPLITS PEAS (yes some of us still use and enjoy old comps) and much more.
11) DHS - a handy utility, included in Decal now.
12) Idler - Keeps you logged in. With ToD, if you are alt-tabbed, and your character logs out, you get a nasty crash. Wish we had this updated for Alpha 5.
13) Mana Mystique - Burns a mana charge when something is about to expire. Simple and very handy.
14) One Touch Healing - now called Healer, worked with Alpha 3, hopefully it gets updated - the only alternative to this is using up 2 hotkey slots and healing the old-school way. Much nicer to just hit 'H'.
15) Spellbar Saver - MAN do I miss this one! Kept your spellbar configs, allowed you to change them by level - a real timesaver as you level up with a mage, or want to set up spellbars the same on several characters.
16) Target Info - Woot! it's back! Try imperiling a group of critters without this one. Unless you like debuffing half the critters 3 times and the other half not at all, heh.
17) UST - All bow down to the developer of UST and pay homage, sacrifice somebody so we can have this back - UST..UST...
18) StartMeUp - Ran a list of chat commands at startup - I used it to sync my friend and squelch lists.
_______________________________________________________________________________
Since ToD and the new Decal, I have discovered El Tank and found that it does what a bunch of these plugins do. But, I still like to hunt without it on, because it's too tempting to turn it on for combat...I try to use El Tracking for a BS/2 replacement but it seems to lag me down. Also, there is a new plugin called Virindi Chat System that allows you to manipulate your chat and run a limited set of commands based on chat events. I love VCS. I've found that an ACTool macro will do what StartMeUp used to do. But still I miss my old set of plugins. Hopefully we will see the old ones updated or the functionality included in new plugins.

Yeah, I wish UST would come back. Nearly a month ago the author said it was about done, but then he vanished.

<<18) StartMeUp - Ran a list of chat commands at startup - I used it to sync my friend and squelch lists.>>
Actually you can use VCS to do this. You know how I said you could filter the chat that VCS itself prints? With the newest version, it either says,
[VCS] Virindi Chat System started. GUI is on.
or
[VCS] Virindi Chat System started. GUI is OFF. Type '/vcs guion' to turn it back on.
whenever you log on. Just create rules for those and point them to the same action, then put what you want to do in that action. Now you don't need to run another plugin to do this
If you're going to add a huge list of things, it might be easier to use the actions.txt file. A friends sync might look like this:
[9]</friends remove -all>{}%^
[9]</friends add Virindi Inquisitor>{}%^
[9]</friends add Saz>{}%^
[9]</friends add Virindi Paradox>{}%^

Thanks for that info, I'm still using an old version (no GUI) and it works with alpha 5d, I'm resisting updating - I'll have to rewrite my filters file to the new format.
Pure laziness, that's all.

The filters are the same format, it's the actions that are different.

favorite old time plugs?
I rate these among the best:
The plugin that used to learn your spells for you and level yoyu to 18 or soemthing in 2 days? Can't remember the name...
6th sense.
MSNchat.(Not sure of the name but which died way too early, someone needs to make a yahooIM plugin!)
Arcane knowledge
nerfus buffus.
the orginal einstein.
Oracle of Dereth
More recent plugins:
bs2
Ust
Stoic(my absolute favorite of all time)
Tank
Board troll
AC trade
Mule trader ( sory mule shopper I think it was called)
And another all time favorite Exception? Man I loved that plugin.
Im sure there are many more, but these are the opnes off the top of my head that I really loved.

Krack - you mean InstaOg, level you to 26 in 2 days by standing in a mana pool and ID'ing an item contiuously?
I've used that, back in the day, but these days, you can level a toon to 26 in one buff cycle.
