Mythic posted: Rampage, has had its percentage to prevent all debuffs increased from 35% to 100%. When using Rampage, the Heavy Tank’s group will receive the Bolster effect, blocking 100% of stat debuffs only, for 20 seconds.
This. is. rape. You realize how rape this is vs assassins? My biggest hurt vs them was getting debuffed. now every 5 minutes i can walk over a bridge, and all over the assassin. Plus with toxic debuffs, they can't even bleed me out. This is the start of going back to the old days of taking on 4 5 of them at once. Now just give something to reduce archery damage and its golden

The resist change is huge. Higher casted resists in groups overall. Less spell damage. Better end regen is pretty sweet. Haste changes for hybrids is nice. As well as other buffs not being overwritten. Rear snares huzzah. I foresee many problems implementing this patch though. edit: and Mentalists getting free speedwarp??? wtf??? that will be removed before it goes live imo. edit2: I'm also against the silence and pictish /use changes. Those eliminate interrupts. Interrupts are one of the ways to deal with damage. A 30% secondary tier resist buff isn't going to help deal with MoC and take players out of the fight. Those are some dumb changes. Just make it so you can purge silence.

nerf the pictish weapons, keep the ML10 cloaks as is > best patch ever.
I would only wish that the rampage effect also purges debuffs, since rampage lasts 20 seconds and most debuffs are 1 min long timer 5 second.

It acted as an interrupt and wasn't always cured due to its short duration. Not being able to disrupt the flow of a caster debuff train maintains the caster advantage so each realm will continue to play 3-5 casters in 8v8.

Silence change really sucks. It was really handy against sojos and speed classes in general Not sure about this relic business either. Whoever has the bigger zerg wins now since a smaller realm can't effectively defend multiple keeps. Camping bled/crauch was a surefire way to defend against relic loss when confronted with the alb zergs which strike multiple places at the same time with more numbers than the other realms can field. They had to take those keeps, and now they can just ignore them.

No its the ability to not cast at all... even instas that are on yourself ie purge. so by changing it from silence to nearsight, you could get self instead and purge it.

Small scenerios? If you got silenced, just run for the 7 seconds lol. same crap with this new ability. if a tank pops it, just kite. all it was good for was stopping a healer for 5 seconds, or shutting a moc'er up also it gave you a chance solo vs an archer..

Specially on a debuff train, since when debuffed your secondary resist in a way becomes your primary resist. Losing silence sure sucks, but this is also an amazing charge. The increased resistance buffs on support classes is quite huge too. Lol at what they gave to bds to compensate their recent nerfs. Having more spells is never bad tho. I wonder why the hell they're messing with the relic system. Current system works fine imo. Relics move around often enough.

The Relic Gate system has been de-activated, and no longer requires opening in order to capture a Relic. Players carrying a Relic may no longer board a Scout boat. Players carrying a Relic may no longer zone into the Passage of Conflict. Players carrying a Relic will now emit a faint, pulsing beacon effect visible by other characters within clip range. Players carrying a Relic are no longer allowed in the vicinity of their Borderkeeps. lol, glad i got my 50 relic takes, first on albion, before these changes. think i spent 8 years driving relics on scout boats and telling them not to go through POC.

Some nice changes, some pointless ones. Silence nerf was definitely not necessary; there weren't that many good counters available to tanks to use against abilities like phaseshift & MoC, and using it at the right moment (lasts <10 seconds once every 15 minutes) was very key. The extra resists is probably going to be a little OP if anything. I really hope they remove phaseshift now tbh. AE root in suppression for RMs is pointless too. Supp is a utility/8v8 line (AE root in 8v8 isn't that useful), and the root would be better in a link like RC or Dark where people are more likely to use it for zerg vs. zerg or soloing. I really, really like the Friar and VW changes though. AoM no longer increasing duration is nice, so is rampage on heavy tanks getting boosted. My zerk is going to have pretty ridiculous magic resists now though. Don't see the need for end buffs being increased. I rarely run out of end on any class, and the ones that do need it (battlemaster styles) will either have end redux in group anyway or wont need it because of the nature of the group setup. Mauler change doesn't really affect the class tbh. Relic changes are iffy; I don't really like the sound of it tbh. I think the fact that you can take relics so easily atm prevents one realm from being overwhelmingly powerful (i.e. 6 relics), and realm with relics have to defend several points (every keep to prevent gates being opened, the shrines themselves, and the other relic keeps).

The only problem I see with this patch is that Friars should NOT be able to spec high Rej, enhance (for superior support), and still be able to spec 29 staff for the rear snare. A support toon should not have access to rear snare. Any well played support friar should be able to kite anything after this patch, which is ok on a melee toon, but will turn the tide of alb groups on a toon that can single target heal for 1500 and group heal for 600. Friar rear snare needs to be level 41.

Everything in this patch is profanity awesome. No more silence/disarm is awesome. 100% debuff resist on tanks is awesome. Friar rear snare is awesome. Assassin poison nerf is awesome. Necro spell pierce being fixed is awesome. NS casting nerf is awesome. Self haste buff not messing with normal haste buffs on savages is awesome. The only thing that seems silly is ments getting speed warp lol. Maulers and BD's getting some love is nice as well, maybe people will actually play them now. Mythic seems to of actually fixed profanity people were complaining about and made the game better with this patch, very nice.

I just re read the patch notes in detail. Nobody has mentioned what is going to be the biggest game changer of all in this patch, and it isn't the relics or the BD pets. I wish I played Albion, they are so going to have the new advantage... what's new.

pretty interesting notes. I think the mentalist speedwarp was necessary honestly since they never got convoker. The animist and necro spell pierce were already fixed so I'm not sure what's going on here? Still mad about that for necros only because they are utterly worthless now. But I think they need some love in other areas to makke up for it. Maybe one day. Heavy tank changes = yay we were asking for something like this not that long ago. BD changes = not exactly sure how that is going to work but interesting Endurance changes = not that needed honestly but cool I suppose Relic changes = kinda confused about still Silence cloak = I don't think needed to be nerfed but meh everything else is kinda cool.

I'm happy to have silence removed even though I've done 2-3 recent templates that I would now rather be back to SOM. That said, I think the resist buff on the ML10 cloak needs to be at least 60 seconds if not like 5 mins. I am pretty wtf about mentalists getting free speedwarp. Can other casters get some free warlord ability too? I'd love warguard or cowering bellow or bolstering battlecry. I don't see why the heavy tanks needed more love. I think Mudoria pretty much summed it up. This is just going to make some bridge troll camp timers a little bit more to fight steather groups. And in zergs you will have more big green troll wannabe types pushed in so far they are out of clip from their zerg. It's sad because I had just suggested an anti debuff mechanic would be perfect for champs. I'm pretty happy about the savage/vw haste and the friar/vw rear snare those were pretty obvious changes. I hope they can fix co-existing stuff like procs now too. I don't understand the relic changes. Does this mean that the area behind the relic gates is now effectively a pve in an rvr zone area? Was going thru poc bad? Why have the scout boats if we can't use them. How about we fill in the ocean/rivers with sand and make roads. Water has always sucked. I'm kinda trying to figure out the endo thing. It feels like to me a way of opening up some spec options for shaman. Paladins I don't see dropping chants much because they get so much out of the line and Bards are locked into 43 nurture for speed 5 so it's a net nerf for them. I'd run lower nurture on a bard in a heartbeat if I could not lose speed 5. Maybe they can make speed song baseline or up its value for bards.

What sense do you guys make of one of the last lines of this patch? patch posted: Fixed an issue with spell debuff duration so it now respects caster’s spell penetration bonus.
I'm under the impression that this means yet an increase in stat debuffs durations, maybe even resist debuff duration(unclear wording). Which does more than counter the AoM bugfix, if it is so. Very disappointed about the silence nerf, especially as they don't change the fodder status of group tanks with significant modifications to compensate. A lot of the other changes are nice though.

Rear snare is nice to have and surely usefull but friars main problem is that they dont land their styles ( Not enough Dex / Weaponskill ) and that their celerity shout does not stack with their haste buff so this change wont change the fact that staff friars just suck.
I don't know if you understand how powerful friars are going to be now? let me lay it down for you, 17% celerity +34% self haste + 10% ToA haste with 250qui and a 5.8 weapon = 1.58attack speed... friars can now almost attack at max attack speed while self haste is up, run through to back snare and KITE to HEAL THEM SELVES!!!! once self haste fades you have buffbot haste to back you up so your not completely gimp Edit: Oh and I can also attack this fast with a 5.8 scythe now too and pretty much cap attack speed with 5.5speed scythe >:)

Love the patch heavy tanks (Arms + Wars)and maulers to be more viable in group settings now.
For the people saying the cloak is a nerf to tanks, I actually think its going to be a boost. It'll allow the tanks to push in an interrupt, especially stacked with fury.

I really don't see how 30% AoM on a 20s timer is going to save you. When you get hit with the debuff and they are free casting, with or w/o MoC, you are going to die. This just allows a Cab to pop MoC and not worry about getting hit with silence. Or any debuff caster for that matter. Lets the flow of caster damage continue on. Dark Age of Castalot continues to dominate. Silence allowed you to interrupt the flow of damage, like PCK said. Or time it properly and interrupt the enemy's flow of healing. Nerfing silence doesn't make sense to me.

Silence needs to be changed so that it can be purged. Not this profanity dumb change. If your silence isn't up and you are getting MoC'd on, your groupmate's silence will save you. After these changes your groupmate won't be able to give you their free EM5. Couple ways to do this. 1. Change it back to 100% NS on a different immunity than normal NS. That way it can be purged or cured. 2. Change it so you cannot use damaging spells for the duration. Cure silence/ns ability cures it. Or you can purge it.

They could make the cloak ability to be a target instead of self too.

It has more to do with negating the flow of damage. Free EM5 isn't going to save you from a debuff train with MoC's up. Silence, however, will save you.

Friars must already rip, because they already run 17% celerity, 34% haste, 10% toa spd, 250 quick and 5.8 spd staves. Only difference is when 34% haste drops they keep spec haste of 20% up, which they would recast on themselves if they were good. Overall, all of the changes look good. Still don't think i'll resub.

Was gonna say Runemaster AE root would be useful, but they only put it at levels 30/39/49. That sucks. Should add a level 20 one. I think Bonedancer GTAE ability is gonna be interesting for solo. Bone Guardians (Suppression Specialization) Level 29 – Skeletal Totem – Uninterruptable 2s cast – 1500 range – 30 power – Ground Target – 350 radius – 300s reuse timer – Pulses a 50%, 15s duration snare every 3s for 21s. Now, basically, a Supp Spec Bonedancer with some PD and healer pets can just cast this GTAE and snare a tank and run off. Pretty nice.

Thats only for 2 hrs lol, and maybe twice a week?.. the people I run with aren't on during the day so I have to do something to pass the time. Also Clumsy doesn't drive groups. Once in a while he will group with me when we are running 8, but most of the time he is with KoN. Btw am I forced to play a certain way to not be considered trash?.. Maybe if someone starts paying for my account WINK WINK. I never judge how someone else plays, but I love how people judge how I play. I play DAoC to have fun, not to have a competition to see who's 8man is better. Besides whats the point in playing this game if you are not having fun and getting told how to play and what to do.

Patch posted: The Armor Factor Chant line of spells will now stack with all other Armor Factor bonuses.
About time they did something with it. Though, stacking might have been a bit much. I was just shooting for coexist but not stack with spec AF. This way you could actually twist it and not have an interval with no spec AF at all. But only now if they would stop ignoring heal chant. But an upgraded heal chant along with stacking AF chant, dat rr5, and procs/pots might be a bit crazy.

Like the changes for the most part. The only things I seen I didnt like were; 1)ML10 cloak change. IMO all they had to do was make Silence able to be Purged like it should have been.....fixed. 2)Menties getting Speedwarp. There are enough convokers in the game that there are already about 10 speedwarps every square meter at the onset of a fight. God damn...we dont need MOAR! I like the Relic changes TBH. Its reminiscent of the old school OF relic system. Nice little nostalgic throwback. The assassin changes were needed. God damn ez-mode bastids.

Yes, I never really understood the point of all those speedwarps, but I was rather content that they dropped those down instead of Prescience Nodes. Although it came close this one time on Beno West when Openbook killed a bunch of Albs and left, then for the next whole HOUR I had to avoid about forty Prescience Nodes in the area, even in the water! That was annoying. And there was apparently a minstrel convention on Beno West at the same time. Not the best of days to be out and about hunting.

I really hope it doesn't.
Being the only caster in the game with no access to SW is a major impediment to grouping. No way you're ever going to see a ment as lone caster in a tank group for example.
That being said, I think a better approach would have been to give SW to all classes who have access to it now at level 49, and make ML4 convoker an new ability, in order to get rid of all the "it's not fair" crap.
Oh and put SW on a 15 min timer rather than 5

The resist pierce nerf to bombers was, yes. My guess is they decided to document the necro stealth nerf and figured they'd include animists as well.
I'm not sure what "Animist pets and bombers" means though. Are they nerfing the turrets and controlled pet as well? If so, do they plan to nerf every other pet class in game the same way?

The problem isn't so much with the mentalist than the fact that the druid's nature spec is a joke. I'd rather have had a good nature spec love patch, so that we would be seeing 40-42regen/3X specced nature druids with speedwarps, getting a very good healer without sacrificing for a healbot warden in the process.

Great nerf to silence and long overdue. The game is t balanced around 8v8, so the people complaining need to stop. The nightshade/ass nerf wasn't enough, but I'm glad Bioware Mythic listened to me about lowering the ranges for the ns spells. They need to remove MoM from shades.

Could care less about 8v8, most of the 8v8 kids these days are nerdyvirgins anyway. Silence is clutch for fighting multiples. It's not the end of the world; shades/remnant cloak have pretty decent charges, after all. But it sucks having to retemp all my guys.

Would just prefer the focus on these classes was kiting rather than being lazy and relying on abilities that have no counter. Example: I mes or stun, they purge and zephyr. I ride zephyr and poof. Example: I mes or stun, they vanish. poof. Example: I mes or stun, they purge and phaseshift and waddle back to their guards. Then there are minstrels/skalds. Good luck even getting close to them with the above toys and sos. Minstrels being the worst with that always up range too big instames. How many times should one class be able to reset a fight? 10 seconds of stick around time is too much to ask for?

They already do that, the psn they nerfed can't be reapplied right afterwards, it has a 15% chance to proc again after it lands and last for like 30seconds or some bullshit. This wasn't a good enough nerf imo they should of nerfed Viper RA too...

I understand the OP nature silence can have - especially soloing an eld to r10, but it is also an amazing counter to warlocks, and a preventative measure to keep people from running away in a fight...from a solo perspective. I can only imagine the importance it can have in a group setting used smartly. I think a happy middle ground can be reached if they keep the silence on the cloak and allow it to be purgeable. If you agree send in feedback, I will even make you a text to copy paste if you want: I think the changing of the silence charge on the ml10 cloak should be reconsidered. It has played an integral role in all aspects of play in DAOC in countering certain classes and abilities that were uncounterable in the past. I understand it is a bit too powerful, so why not find a happy middle ground and allow it to be purgeable? Thanks for your time. Feedback Form

Without focusing too much on the individual changes, I like this patch simply because it indicates that they are putting a little more effort into the game, and actually making some risky changes to NF to try to spice things up a little bit. When it comes to the actual changes, I think they are all pretty good. I wasn't a big fan of silence, I don't really like the idea of /use abilities countering RAs and MLs. In all honestly, I think daoc has lately become Dark Age of Toyalot more than Castalot. With the high utility items that exist now, and people being able to cap templates pretty easily it's now all become about toys and procs. I mean, they have always mattered to some degree, but now they are actually gamebreaking. Assassins still need a bit more toning down. Reduction to DD damage doesn't address the mechanics of the DD poison being a self buff instead of an enemy debuff, or LB damage etc. Warp on ments is not the best of ideas. I would like some clarification about rampage, imo if it's only going to last 20 seconds it should also purge existing stat debuffs on the group.

Casters have way too many ways to deal with melee damage. Through items, haste debuffs, stat debuffs, shears, ML's, etc. I mostly play casters and it is way titled in favor of casters. Has been since the release of ToA.

lol silence is some thing than debuffs or items? tank have too debuffs,through items, ml,s,determination,charge etc. with the lastet pach they give nice ml10 weapons and cloak at tank.what give at casters? cloak cure mezz or at healers 1 bold..lol i think is fair if tank have silence,casters need have disarm.

Remove silence. Give every tank and their dog 150 acuity debuff + 150 dex debuff + casting speed debuff (37%, bugged to 70% on mid) on 5 second recast 1/2min duration and a pulse bladeturn that negates a spell every 6 seconds. ??? watch the VNs burn.

I really didn't have a problem with the disarm from pictish. Even the pbae one that lasted a couple seconds, ie 1-2 swings. But casters/support really didn't need any more tools when they decided to implement it. So I had no issue with it being nerfed. Hasn't affected my play on my casters/support one bit. I had no issues with tanks prior to the pictish disarm and no issues after the pictish nerf. Just making silence purge-able would probably alleviate most of the complaints. Because in a fight these days you can't purge FZ or silence. Two tools, when timed correctly, that can change the fight. Although, silence can be cured. Most times it is the support getting hit with it though.

I can see why they gave ments warp but don't really agree with it. Warlord is great, as much as convoker. But some ments whined they'd prefer convoker, and some (me) counter-whined warlord was fine and they'd be pissed off if they lost it. So they gave ments a free speedwarp to keep everyone happy and avoid the problem of pissing off warlord lovers and giving class with pulsing charm ML9 convoker. Otherwise it's all okay. Silence, was OP vs a solocaster (mini grps used it on me all the time) but fine in other situations. That said, what's the point in fighting other peoples corner, no one else does? GJ mythic nerfing silence...
