Boards Archive] |
Welcome to the Vault Network
forum archive.
This is not a complete archive, time didn't allot us the
opportunity to properly backup the majority of the boards
deemed "expendable". Most boards on this list have at least
20-40 pages archived (non-logged in pages, 15 topics per
page).
Popular boards may have as many as 250 pages archived at 50
topics per page, while others deemed of historical
signifigance may be archived in their entirety.
We may not agree with how the board shutdown was managed, but
we've done what we could to preserve some of its history in
lieu of that.
Please enjoy the archive.

Not for them of course, just those not in their elite circle. http://www.thedenverchannel.com/news/30765076/detail.html With grand designs on minimizing their housing footprint, Christopher Smith and Merete Mueller have spent the last 10 months building the tiny home of their dreams. "It's 19 feet long wall to wall,†Smith said. “The interior square-footage is about 125 square feet.†The interior layout consists of a sitting area, kitchen and bathroom. A vaulted ceiling makes room for a sleeping loft that can accommodate a queen-size mattress. “The interior looks a lot bigger than the exterior,†Mueller said Well, I hope so.

not to point out the obvious, but that sounds more like a view of the current conservative elite present... just on a much smaller and way less opulent scale.

I think you are mistaking conservatives for liberals. A common mistake. The elite liberals love acting they have some link to the common man. Meanwhile most liberals seem to think all Republicans are rich. It is what get when you receive history from Hollywood and other propaganda mills. I think this stems from how liberals frame the debate. Conservatives want everyone to have freedom. Liberals want everyone to stay within a wall of strictly defined “rightsâ€. Of course that strictly only counts with the obedience part. The defined part they keep undefined; so they can change it at will. It makes liberals think they have more "rights" than they do. Conservatives would rather we are free to find our own path, without having to carry the liberals on our backs.

Their design incorporates several sustainable elements, including: reclaimed windows, beetle-kill lumber, solar power and a composting toilet. "It’s just a five-gallon bucket that you put peat moss and sawdust in,†Smith said. “You'd be surprised how well it works and how much it doesn't smell.†Not sure I want to know what they do with it.
