My thane is 2h, but I don't have it written down and I don't play anymore. I'm useless as always. 
I'm sure someone else will step in and save the day though... but who?

Chat with me in game. Been talking with Rob and Rhae about template sections on gaheris.net.
Ball is in Rhae's court atm, but soon something should be shaping up and there will be a Thane template along with many other changes.
My Thane temp is for a Mid thane, and being that all Mids are two handed it should be something you'd like to look at.
Sorry for the jab, but it's weird how the entire community thinks there's a non 2 handed Mid.
Sorta a sticking point with me. Anyway I would love to help ya out nabs send me in game.

lol, I believe they do nabs. I did hear a rumor that inconnu have a secret third hand, but I was too scared to ask one. 
Yes walter, all mids can switch between 1h and 2h without speccing for 2h. I built my thane a few ways over the years and being a hybrid it is a class that it's better to focus on 1h/shield or 2h/parry, since you are definitely going to want to drop points into stromcalling. Something zerkers and warriors (who really shine from that mid trait) don't have to worry about.
I understand your frustration though because not everyone realizes that nice quality about mid melee toons.

Thanes and Skalds just look wrong with shields.. though in the "old days" used to put 10 in shield and bring parry down from 28 to 27 fer the guard. lol
