Boards Archive] |
Welcome to the Vault Network
forum archive.
This is not a complete archive, time didn't allot us the
opportunity to properly backup the majority of the boards
deemed "expendable". Most boards on this list have at least
20-40 pages archived (non-logged in pages, 15 topics per
page).
Popular boards may have as many as 250 pages archived at 50
topics per page, while others deemed of historical
signifigance may be archived in their entirety.
We may not agree with how the board shutdown was managed, but
we've done what we could to preserve some of its history in
lieu of that.
Please enjoy the archive.

I got a Paasche Talon gravity feed, it's not the top of the line, but since I'm just starting out I thought it would be a good place to begin that isn't 90% frustrating due to poor quality equipment. http://www.amazon.com/Paasche-TG-3F-Double-Gravity-Airbrush/dp/B002N0QA9A

Nice, haven't tried that type yet. From looking at your website the one I've used looks more like this one: http://www.dickblick.com/products/paasche-model-vl-double-action-airbrush/?wmcp=amazon&wmcid=feeds&wmckw=25010-0300 There's some slight differences, but I am curious to see how you like the one you got. The one I have seems prone to clogging unless I take serious steps to prevent it.

I had a super cheapo one I got from harbor freight (like $20), it was a siphon feed and it clogged like no tomorrow, which was one of the reasons I went with the gravity... The other big plus is that it doesn't waste paint like with the siphon feed. I used it with the airbrush makeup, which is super effing expensive, it lets me just put a few drops of makeup in the reservoir at a time and sucks it all through so no waste at all. I need someone to practice the makeup application on, it doesn't do me much good to apply it to myself while learning, since I have to close my eyes.. IF I get good enough at it, I hope to do temp tattoo parties, kids birthdays with face painting, fairs and such. I'm trying to talk my daughter into learning how to do balloon animals so we could book birthday parties as a group.

I went with a 3 lbs 1/8 hp compressor, it's a little on the large side, but it doesn't do any of the bad things I've heard about some of the mini compressors... plus it was only $65.
