I have a Kindle and bought one for my wife. We both use them daily. We also have a Kindle Fire and it gets used daily between us and the kids.
Well worth it? If you read a lot of books, then yes, most definitely, it is worth it. Having an entire library of books in your hands is pretty damn cool.

i got the latest low-end ($79.99) Kindle a month ago and I absolutely love it. small, sleek, simple.
i find myself reading a lot more and something about the little device makes reading easier and faster. breezing thru books.

Bought our girls each a Kindle Fire for Christmas and they love them. They have had zero problems trying to read books. Personally, I would hate trying to read a book off the tiny screen of my phone.

i think the e-ink nook is cheaper than the kindle right now and it doesn't have ads. but you should play with all the e-ink readers at like best buy to make a decision on which one you want.

I really like my kindle, but I wasn't at the point of paying for one. I got it as a gift.
If you like older books, there are a huge amount of free ones.
Newer books it seems like they are raising the prices to normal book cost, and I'd prefer to have the actual book if I'm paying full price.

We have 2 kindle fires. They get used everyday for reading, games, surfing, homework and movies. The only con I have is there are no current apps for parental controls. We limit the usage on the kids Fire at the router level so its manageable.

I use my Kindle Fire every single night. I am streaming all of Star Trek.
I started with Voyager and watched every last episode and then moved on to Deep Space Nine. I have like 8 episodes to go till I am done with it. Then I will move on to either The original or try and watch the one with Scott Bakula even though I didn't like the few episodes I ever saw.
(Edit TNG is my favorite but I watched them not too long ago.. not sure I am ready for another marathon of it)
I love watching it in bed on my pillow.

My daughter has a Nook Color, she had my Sony Reader before that, she says that her eyes get sore if she reads on the Nook Color for too long, which doesn't happen with E-ink displays.

I have the Nook Tablet and love it. It's small and portable and I can adjust the font size for my bad eyes to be able to see. With regular books I can only read for a half hour or so. On my nook I can read for hours and hours.
