The Whey is just whey, it has the BCAAs that the complex has, the complex has vitamins and minerals which you should get from eating food. Preferably you would get your protein from food too, but it makes a good pre-workout supply of BCAAs.

I've found that ON tends to be the best tasting across their flavors (IMO) and doesn't have a lot of extra crap that isn't necessary like some of the poorer quality powders I've tried.
