This cat, a tom cat of ours, it got an injury to its left cheek about two weeks ago. It wasn't a big deal until it scratched the hell out of it, making it a much larger wound. We tried treating it a dozen different ways, but it just kept removing whatever we put on his wound, and making it much, much worse. We finally got a cone-collar at Pets Mart and a bunch of pads, gauzes, and other crap. So this lil guy has had this cone on for two weeks while his wound heals up.
It is almost completely healed up now. Because of that he feels a lot better and desperately wants to go outside. He can't poke his head past our insulated curtains so he's been tearing at them, and even pulled one down just so he could sit on the sill. He's been very anxious to get back outside, and generally being a terror, which has gotten him into trouble. Saturday night, I awoke as if from a dream.What the hell was that warm liquid running down my abdomen, soaking into my underwear. It covered my wife's mid section too. I halfway sat up to find the goddamned cat sitting on us peeing like a race horse.
Two comforters, all the bed linens, our clothes, all had to come off. Late night showers, flipping that California King mattress over after we cleaned it...god what an ordeal. I wanted to kill that damned cat.

The mattress stores sell a liner that you can put over the mattress and it will keep any moisture from soaking through to the mattress. It has a thin fabric surface that sort of looks like terry cloth over a vinyl liner so you can use it with or without a mattress pad. From then on worst thing we had to do was change the bedding but didn't have to worry about the mattress.

You can get this stuff at Petco etc called Nature's Miracle, which is supposed to be great for getting cat pee out.
To stop him doing it again, get some Feliway. He's stressed out because he cant go outside, the Feliway will calm him down.

Yeah, we used the plug-ins when we brought Connor home, to ease the transition and it really helped calm them both down.

Pour hydrogen peroxide on the pee stain. Pour it liberally. It will denature the enzymes in the urine and take the stain out of the mattress through peroxidation. I use it in my practice and have never had a smell in my office.

First time, rubbed her nose in it....she didn't come near my room for about a week, but then all was good...
Second time, I did the same, and she didn't come near my room for about a month. So far, it's been quite a few months, and no problems. She's in my room, lies on my bed, but no pee.

some cats are just plain evil, I had one that would determine which basket of clothes was clean and piss in it, but NEVER pissed in the dirty clothes basket. We left him alone overnight when he was a kitten, came home to a pile of sh*t in the middle of our bed. He had a lot of personality quirks, both good and bad, he was the most charismatic cat I've ever owned.

One of our cats is really pissing me off lately. She will play with the water dish, batting the water out onto the floor until it is completely empty, and soaking the towel we put underneath it. The water then soaks into the laminate and warps it. She likes to do this while we are sleeping, or not at home. This also leaves no water for the other cat, who is consistently very thirsty whenever I wake up in the morning.
We used to have a recirculating water dish but she did the same thing with that one too. It's driving me nuts.

some cats are just plain evil, I had one that would determine which basket of clothes was clean and piss in it, but NEVER pissed in the dirty clothes basket. We left him alone overnight when he was a kitten, came home to a pile of sh*t in the middle of our bed. He had a lot of personality quirks, both good and bad, he was the most charismatic cat I've ever owned.
