Don't know much about this one but if graphics are any indication it is going to take another bite out of WoW's sub base. Tera's website http://tera.enmasse.com/?lang=en 1080p video: http://youtu.be/oF8aNEWsm1w With SWTOR out, this one in beta and GW2 about to go beta they must be sweating big time at Blizzard.

Been playing it off and on. Can't seem to get myself any higher than 12, get bored of it because the only real way to level is grind quests. I want to play it though, because the combat seems like it will be really good higher level. It can be a little clunky at times. For example I was playing a Berserker and dueled a Slayer I think it was. Every time I would try to use any of my attacks other than my basic swing he would just roll away, a skill I didn't have. Meanwhile I was caught usually stuck doing a followup swing and vulnerable for a couple seconds. Repeat a bunch of times. The aiming of abilities/swings is often off. If you swing then want to swing another direction after you have to wait to make sure you're actually facing that way or you'll just end up wasting time stuck in an animation swinging completely the wrong way. Archer was better though, and probably all ranged/caster types will be. I just wish there were other ways to level, like some sort of battlegrounds or exp from dueling etc. Grinding quests got old years ago. Will likely play Tera while waiting for GW2 to come out

Everybody knows what GW2 will bring but what does Tera actually have to offer? To me too it looks like a grindfest as well. I smell Aion-spirit ^^.

They are not. Have you ever played an MMO before?

I usually try most MMO's, but after playing the crap fest that was Aion, I wont waste my time with another asian grind fest, and I get the feeling that is what Tera will be.

From what I have read leveling in that game is much like is was leveling in original WoW, I don't know that I would call it a grind fest but original WoW leveling was much much slower than it is today that is for sure.

guess that is a good reason to avoid Tera then.

To cut & paste from another board: s0meon3 posted: First off, it's not a WoW killer... so don't even ask if it is. It is, however, a nice break for the traditional "lock-on" targeting that we're so very used to. In TERA you can't actually "lock-on" to any mob (with the exception of a few spells) and everything is based on you actually aiming your attacks/spells/abilities with your mouse just like a first person shooter. [...]I have been playing the Korean retail version on and off for some time now [...] and we casually (very casually) leveled our main characters to the mid-30's and numerous alts into the teens. Even in Korean, where we had to figure things out and struggle through text that we couldn't understand, we still had fun because the game itself looks amazing with its wide open environments, the fights are fast-paced and movement intensive, and the plethora of scantily clad women scattered throughout the land it was nice to have a break from your typical WoW/RIFT MMO structure. Don't misunderstand when I say it has a different "structure"... there are still the same kill this and collect that quests that you should normally expect in any MMO but, the game just has a different feel to it. Do note that it is a Korean MMO so it does have that Korean 'feel' to it. If you've played any other Asian MMO then you know what I'm talking about; however, it's not a grindfest like you would normally find in an Eastern MMO (at least up until the mid-30's). Leveling with 2 people made things go much faster than leveling solo (obviously) but we constantly found ourselves moving out of a zone before we were completely done with all of its quests.

And that right there is why I won't touch it. I'd like to see them try to innovate the genre a bit, instead of just making more and more Lineage 2 clones with better graphics. (Though TERA is technically the stolen Lineage 3 code ) Combat without targetting is not my idea of innovation.
