Spell Pierce
|
I have a question about spell pierce. I'm under the impression that it only offsets or cuts through magic resists that other players have from their gear. In other words, its only useful in rvr situations. Is this true? Or is it useful in pve as well. I think I'm gonna try and put together a pbaoe temp and I dont know if spell pierce something I need to include or not.

Didn't there used to be a bug on necros where if you stacked way over cap on pierce (like 39%+) it would work in pve even? Not that the info does much good, but was just curious.

that was true when i played. since mobs have no gear spell pierce does nothing to them. some people here included it because they liked to duel.

I think the most spell pierce you can get is like 35%. Most of the items with spell pierce share slots. VN_Somniac posted: /misses MW III ... the original Spell Pierce
MW3 wasn't spell pierce. That was just plain old spell ignore. Big difference there. Dear lord do I miss that on my eldritch too, though. Nothing like nuking purples like they were a grey.

We meant deliberately overcapping spell pierce to force a rumored bug (which may or may not exist). If you grabbed every piece of pierce gear you could you could go about 20+ % over the cap. I never tried it myself because I didn't care about it enough and the rumor I heard back then was it only worked on necros anyway (I am guessing the coding with the pet getting gear stats had something to do with it in theory)
