Glasses... I did contacts for a while and have tried them a couple times both before and since that. They are too much work for too little return for me. My sleep habits are terrible so sometimes I don't sleep for days and I spend 99% of my waking time in front of multiple monitors. Too much strain on the eyes and discomfort. I'm sure they've come a long way since the last time I tried them but I really haven't had the urge to even try them in like ten years.

Contacts by far... my glasses always seem to get smudges or specks on them even if I don't touch them at all with my fingers, so I'd rather see the world clearly. Contacts are very comfortable nowadays.. I do plan on getting LASIK eventually though.

Didnt see that in any page that I looked at but I have never managed to get the same frames prescription change to prescription change -- that I go almost a decade between trips to the eye doctor doesnt help.
Was $1100(total) from lenscrafters for my glasses and sunglasses even with the AAA 30% discount thing.

You dont have to worry about peripheral vision so long as you get BIG glasses. I mean I have 145s. It is people who get neo style glasses that are something like 35s that have that problem.

If you can afford it and it can be done to correct your particular vision issues, I cannot speak highly enough for lasik. I went from wearing glasses or contacts from age 8 until my early 30s with 20/400 vision to having 20/15 vision with lasik.
At the time I was reasonably heavily involved in competitive shooting and after I got my eyes corrected with lasik, I could see slower moving bullets (such as 45 ACP, 45 colt, and other rounds moving at under 1000 feet per second) in flight - not crystal clear mind you, but I could see the little streak of their travel when they were fired by people standing off to my side - like you see a gnat or mosquito out at the fringes of your vision on a summer evening. I could see the sun reflecting off of the back of the bullets I'd fired myself quite clearly as that surface was often made shiny and reflective by the heat of being fired...
My eyes have continued to deteriorate somewhat and as part of my original lasik deal I got a heavy discount on "touchups" for life. I am due for a touchup now as, 10 years later I am probably at 20/40 or maybe 20/80 vision now and it is starting to impact my shooting a slight bit.
If you won't/can't do lasik, then contact lenses, just because in general it's less hassle and you can easily wear sunglasses as opposed to wearing prescription glasses. Yes you can get prescription sunglasses and those lenses which darken in the sun, but it's not the same, and you have to pay attention to another pair of expensive glasses as opposed to a $10 pair of sunglasses...

All you people who are afraid/dislike contacts confuse me.
You don't touch your eye when you put in contacts. The contact is wet so when you put it really close to your eye it sticks. You don't feel contacts when you're wearing them.
If you don't like the "upkeep," as in cleaning them you can always get daily contacts and throw them away each evening. That's what I do. They're so awesome.
I only wear my glasses at home. They're ok but they hurt my nose after a while and also there's the peripheral issue.

My hard contacts are essentially dead (wear them more then 3 hours and my eyes are bloodshot and itchy as heck) so I'm wearing glasses now but want to get some of those disposable ones... I miss being able to play pool properly.
