The last two books were also written by the new author, I thought they were really good. It's not precisely like Jordan but Sanderson does a decent job of it and is actually better at story structure.

Lews Therin killed everyone around him, then went crazy and blew himself up, too, tainting Saidar or whatever it's called in the process. Unless the books have already progressed to the point where Saidar is no longer tainted, they can't really end at the beginning...at least not exactly.
