I use 2, overlapping a little bit so that it's raised in the middle and I can use either side if I need a change.
I have bad sinus problems, so laying flat isn't an option...I take either 2 pseudophedrine or a spray of afrin in each nose every night of the week probably 48 weeks a year...And if I'm having a sinus infection, it's more like 4-6 pseudophedrine per night (2 every 4 hours).
I also get really hot, but I almost have to be under covers to sleep well...so I have to have the room cold. And my pillows get hot too, so any time I wake up I have to move to a different part of the pillow lol.

I have acid reflux, when its well under control I sleep with one firm pillow, lately I've had to use 3 and 4 pillows, 3 firm and my soft lumpy cuddle pillow that I just refuse to give up. I stole it from a best western somewhere in New Mexico when I was driving my car home (bought it online and had to pick it up in Dallas).

I had the softest bed ever in AZ, my shoulder sank right in to the perfect depth, I could sleep with or without a pillow and it was great. actually its designed for both side and back sleeping. when you roll to the side your up on those ends which are higher, its better support for side sleeping. when you roll to your back your in the middle which is lower and better support for back sleeping.
