Good episode. They even worked in a wild west saloon showdown.
I still think the series is moving slower than it should. They are still on the farm and zombie interaction is less than it should be, but i am enjoying it.

AMC drastically cut their budget so they're cutting back on zombies cause they're so damn expensive. Tonight's episode was a great example of that, and we'll probably see a lot more melodrama than zombie bouts.

I watched the first and last episodes of Season 1, and the first episode of Season 2 over the weekend during the marathon. WoW! It was so freaking good.
I haven't watched the first episode of season 2.5, but I'm already getting ready to be let down. You can tell they are going to just fall back to cheesy CGI, when the first episode was almost all real actors playing zombies with physical gore.

It's on AMC which is basic cable not a premium channel.
I thought all of season 1 was well worth watching. Season 2 has been more hit or miss. Definitely check out season 1 and decide for yourself after that.

I enjoyed the episode last night. The bar scene at the end was riveting, and made me think about just what would you do in a situation like that. Shows that get the audience to put themselves in the place of the characters on the screen do well, just look at the sensation of Lost. I could do with a little more zombie action, but all in all, I really like the series.

It is a shame they slashed the budget in order to divert more money to Mad Men, a show which was great but which is now clearly past its prime. Old blood sucking away new blood is SOP in that business.
That last episode had its share of the usual insufferable moral preening of its non-Shane characters (especially Dale who I pray becomes a zombie snack) but it was less than the worst of season 2.0.

I liked that they threw in the dudes at the bar. One of the greatest threats in this type of scenario is all the sociopaths that would come out of the woodwork once the rule of law has broken down.
Overall, the show has been dragging somewhat in season 2 and they need to step it up a bit, but it isn't bad and definitely worth watching.

i caught up to see if it was tolerable again and decided that i wanted nothing more than to throw dale into the zombie barn and watch him die and turn. then i was torn on whether or not i'd kill him as a zombie or if i'd let him stay around as one.

I'm trying to figure out if they killed the Sheriff in the bar, or if they killed Shane, metaphorically speaking I mean.
The guy was pretty much echoing the sheriff's words to the farmer when he was pleading for shelter, but his actions made him more like Shane. I think it was some sort of commentary on what would happen if he succumbed to Shane's leadership style.
