Looking around at 46in LED (possibly 3D not sure yet) between $1000 and $1500. Was surprised at how many actually fell in this price range(the bulk of them actually). Looked at a few online and reviews have been positive so far on the Sony Bravia. Anyone had any experience with one? I have had my Toshiba Regza LCD 42in for about 4 years now and the only thing that has hurt it is my kids used a dry erase marker on it. Those markers dont come off the screen as well as the board so it has some darkened spots on it where it had to be wiped clean repeatedly over several days to get it off. They will not be allowed to breathe in the same room as this one and I am giving them my old one for their movies, PBS, and Nick Jr shows so they stay off of mine.

Damn, that's pretty expensive. I just bought a 40" for $375 a couple months ago. 6" is going to triple the price?

A 40 inch LED not LCd? With 240 hz refresh rate, internet apps, and 3d capability?

I just bought the Samsung 46" LED non-3D model. Smart TV. I love it but you have to get the settings right, after playing with it I found the best settings and it's wicked now. It's super thin and has lots of connectivity options. I love it's media client ability especially because it doesn't have Cinavia.. so if my P@3 can't play it because it's got embedded Cinavia then my TV can. I didn't want 3D, it's gay and is a fad that will not last imo..

LED with 120hz. None of that extra crap. Oh, except for the actual laptop that connects to it from any spot in my room.

Check out Vizio models also. Much better bang/buck than samsung, sony, etc. Also, I wouldn't pay much (if any) extra for 3D unless you know for sure you'll use it. Which you won't.

samsung. the one i just got has 4 USB ports, 4 hdmi, VGA, ethernet, ... im pretty sure they are slapping 3D software on every tv 120hz or better. the samsung aps is nice. hulu and netflix at the touch of a button on the remote. not only that, but pms recognises the tv as a usable decoder. it also displays win7 folders that are opened on the network. i almost dont even need my ps3 anymore. oh, and, LED is LCD. they refer to the backlight when they call the TVs LED, not the display screen. its kind of false advertising but its really just a symantecs ploy

Yet there is a consistent difference between LCD and LED so it doesn't really pay to continue your douchebag crusade for labeling the TVs "properly."

Actually the picture looks different on the LCDs and LEDs on the display walls. You can tell when they are next to each other. LED uses less power according to the energy star compliance stsickers on them, and they do not get as hot which means less chance of burn-in. I know they are LCDs but saying they are the same is like saying a wolf is just like a dog. And thanks Altara, took the words right out of my mouth.

"LEDs" use less power and dont get as hot because they dont have bulbs. LEDs use less power and dont get as hot is like saying the sun is bright and hot. remove bot bright bulb and replace it with LED. its like saying a pitbull isnt a terrier
