It comes and goes with me. Some weeks there will be nothing and then for weeks on end leading to a couple months WOW hell even I can't stand the smell of my feet. Is it related to diet or alcohol intake? I know that it can be caused by wearing shoes that do not let your feet breath but for the past 6 years I've solid non breathing shoes and I've only had trouble randomly over the years. Anything that anyone suggests? I recently started talking to a woman that I might want to get to know better and this is a sore spot I don't want to cause a problem.

I only have a problem with shoes when I don't wear socks repeatedly. generally I wash the insoles every couple of weeks, but after a while that doesn't seem to cut it anymore, so I run the shoes through the wash, even though they're leather/suede. I have some spray I got at DSW that seems to work rather well. its pretty important to have a couple pairs that you rotate though, gotta give shoes a chance to dry.

So you suggest having a couple pair of work shoes? I can definitely try that easy. I want to try the whole bring an extra set of socks to work thing but since I take the bus to work and if I work a double I need a plastic bag to put the used socks in i'm not sure about that. Thought about bringing sandals to work to wear during my break (usually and hour or more) to help but I cringe at putting the old socks back on. What spray do you use? PM please if you feel you need to. I seriously hate this foot odor. I wash and scrub my feet daily and it's still pretty bad!

My Mum swears by putting talcum powder/ baby powder in your shoes. The only problem is, you risk leaving white footprints when you take them off. She also used to tell us to put powder on our feet before we put our socks on. I only ever really got cheesy feet when i was a teenager, though. It tapered off the older i got.

I don't suffer, but my husband did. Didn't matter what shoes or socks he wore. Nasty smell. He used one of the foot powders and it helped a lot.

Only when I wear boots and heavy socks. Probably due to feet sweating.

Only when I do something physical that causes me to sweat, and only then if I keep my shoes/socks on for most of the day, which I usually don't

i think foot odor is caused by bacteria reacting to sweat. so i'd guess the difference between people with and without smelly feet is bacteria on the skin or in the body itself coming out through the sweat. i've never had stinky feet and i wouldn't be surprised if its because of my habit of taking garlic supplements. couldn't hurt to try some odorless garlic gelcaps for a week or two and see if it goes away on its own that way. just make sure to get the right kind...as long as you get the odorless gelcaps you don't have to worry about replacing the foot smell with garlic smell

its called fresh fogger "the ultimate deodorizer" There is a written explanation online about why foot odor happens, it has to do with bacteria, but it's their excrement that smells and the shoes never drying out is the cause of it happening in the first place, once the smell is there it's hard to get rid of wash your insoles and use vinegar in the wash, don't worry you won't walk around smelling like vinegar, the smell goes away once it's dry. alternating shoes is what I've always been told to do. baby powder will just give the bacteria something else to munch on, lol. It doesn't soak up nearly enough moisture to make a difference for someone who is on their feet at work. athelete's foot cream only works if you actually have athelete's foot. When I lived in AZ I did try the gold bond medicated powder, and its nice and tingly on the feet, dunno that it does more than that.
