Don't go with salsas or any gooey/creamy dips. Same for the foods, nothing with bbq sauce or gravy.
Brats are good. We usually make cracker dip with cream cheese and imitation crab meat.

i used to make 4lb of beer battered shrimps.
when we used to do superbowl parties, we went all out.
there would be steak, shrimp, wings, ribs, brats, burgers.....
id give up my beer battered shrimps recipe but id have to kill the lot of you.
if youve never had my shrimps, just picture eating something so delicious and incredible that you have to run home and slap your momma after every bite.

Anyone can get 30 people to come over if they promise free food and booze.
And TBH I know most of these people through my Wife. When we were making the invite list somehow most of my friends ended up on the cut list. I have some colorful friends and my wife wanted to invite a lot of people she knows through work including some clients. Some of my peeps are a little rough around the edges and take some getting used to.

One of the popular party food items around here is a big, round hollowed out loaf of rye bread filled with a dill dip. The bread from the hollowed out loaf is used to dip with. Mighty tasty!
Ingredients:
3/4 cup mayonnaise (regular or light)
3/4 cup sour cream (regular or light)
1 teaspoon dried parsley
1 teaspoon onion flakes
1 teaspoon beau monde
1 teaspoon dried dill weed (or 1 Tablespoon fresh)

Guacamole dip, goes well with lime chips.
2 avacados
5 tomatillos
large cottage cheese (2.5 cups maybe)
2 cloves garlic
1 bunch of cilantro
juice from one lime
Just blend it all together and adjust amounts of ingredients to taste.
Also frozen crab rangoons can be really easy to make and popular.

it is as good as i say.
we are talking a $20+ plate with about 8 shrimp and some rice on it. and yould be happy to pay for it.
just enough spice so that youll feel it after clearing your plate but not so much that you wont want to wolf them down in 4 bites.
sweet and delicious perfectly beer battered and seasoned....
