I guess att has been upgrading infrastructure around here.
when I first moved here in 08 it was 1.5 meg so I signed up for cable internet, it was fast but expensive and unstable every time the wind blew hard it would drop out.
a year later they had 3 meg and now they have 6 meg.
they are laying fiber all over the place so hopefully u-verse is coming.

u-verse has it's flaws.
we switched everything over to u-verse/att (phone, tv, internet) and got the 16mb/s line...they seem to put a cap on it. and since it's one of their higher speeds, that's kind of annoying. Had comcast since 2000 or 2001 I think, and it never had a cap on it...sometimes I could get high 20's even though we were paying for 12 mb/s.
and their remote for the tv is lame...there is no slow-mo option, so I can't watch boobies jiggle in slow mo. Tried looking it up online to see if there's a trick to it, but att just claims they have that option in the works for the next remote...and you don't realize how much you use the slow-mo with the dvr until you don't have it anymore and can't use it.
although we did get uverse on all 3 tv's, so I can watch tv at the computer now.
