Boards Archive] |
Welcome to the Vault Network
forum archive.
This is not a complete archive, time didn't allot us the
opportunity to properly backup the majority of the boards
deemed "expendable". Most boards on this list have at least
20-40 pages archived (non-logged in pages, 15 topics per
page).
Popular boards may have as many as 250 pages archived at 50
topics per page, while others deemed of historical
signifigance may be archived in their entirety.
We may not agree with how the board shutdown was managed, but
we've done what we could to preserve some of its history in
lieu of that.
Please enjoy the archive.

Jesus Christ relax. A little snow and you freak out. Try living in the north east.

Flooding is honestly something that makes me nervous. I could care less about snow, I've been in dozens of snowstorms, bad ones, and meh, but I've been through a couple of floods and they scare me a lot more. I am so thankful that when we built our house we did so in a town that is higher in elevation and not in a flood zone. Our town was also smart enough to put the power lines underground so falling tree limbs won't knock out our electricity.

I've been snowed on in Connecticut and I've been snowed on in Seattle. Snow in Seattle is wayyyy more dangerous. A) Seattle is much more hilly than wherever you live Tych. B) People in Seattle haven't got a clue how to deal with even a little snow.

I don't live in CT. I live at the foothills of the Berkshires in MA, we're pretty hilly here. Never been to Seattle. Freaking out over a little snow is funny though.

Seattle's ground is always saturated thus anytime you get extreme events like heavy snow or heavy rains that are out of the norm of just heavy mist most of the time, couple that with the hilly terrain of seattle and you get flash flooding like wow. they are very unique in their climate and terrain combo.

Oregon's flooding like a mfer right now. We drove to the valley today and had to take a different route due to landslide. Killer sandstorms at the beach too. I've rented houses a few times in Bayshore, where these crazy pics were taken.
