This comes up every election cycle, Iowa has rarely picked the winner and people always question the relevance. Bu t if it didn't matter at some level, campaigns wouldn't waste the time and resources on it. It adds credibility if a candidate places in the top spots, but campaigns have historically been able to do badly or skip it entirely and still find a path to nomination.

New Hampshire and Iowa are only important because you tend to lose a few of the weaker candidates. You'll see Dr. Paul leave after Super Tuesday. Glad to help.

New Hampshire historically has done very well voting for the people who would eventually becomes the nominee for their party. Not so much in the recent years thanks in large part to all the massholes migrating north!

Iowa is over run with fundamentalist voters. Other than being the first primary, they are largely irrelevant and out of touch with mainstream USA.
