Yeah that's it.
It's also the one that is the most believable imo.
Their disclaimer before the show basically says the same as a fishing show... we edit out tens of thousands of auctions and only show the 10-15 best ones.

First of all, it is a TV show. Whatever gets aired, is aired exactly how they wanted it (editing and props anyone?). Maybe, once upon a time, there might have been the hint of a "reality" show somewhere. Most shows these days are about as real as watching "professional" wrestling.
Second, yes I have heard of cash limits when traveling. I also understood 10k (and up), in cash having to be "declared", or it can all be confiscated under the law. I am not sure if this applies to flying only or any travel. I'll never know since I won't be testing the theory unless I win a Lotto or something else big.

any single transaction of any type over 10K has to be reported to the IRS. you could carry 5 million in cash around if you want to.
the real question is how they can carry that much cash around, now that they have had so much publicity without idiots trying to mug them every day.

A buddy of mine brought $30k in cash to make a downpayment on a house and the bank wouldn't take it. He had to go to 3 different banks and get cashier checks for $9999 each. Kind of lame when a bank won't take cash.

They are about people that make a living buying storage units that renters have defaulted on in the hopes that there is some "treasure" to be found within or at least that they can turn a nice profit selling the items over what they paid for the unit. For example they go to the auction, dozens of people are there, they are allowed to do a quick look at what is in the unit (from outside only, no touchy touchy) and then the auctioneer starts the bidding. If you win the unit you have to pay cash on the spot and have it cleared out within a certain amount of time (like by the end of the day or next day). Lets say they paid $500 for the unit. They are banking on there being at least $500 in items to sell to break even from what they could see from the doorway and the remaining items are hopefully all profit. Sometimes there are things hidden away that are very valuable and that is where the "thrill" is for some of these folks.
On a side note, many consignment stores do this to keep inventory flowing. It's interesting to see what people find. One guy had a locker with this stuffed bighorn sheep that was valued at around $60,000....wtf seriously.
I like these types of shows on as white noise when I am cleaning. A&E and the Food Network are great that way  That and you tend to learn a bit about history.
Edit: I like Barry. I think he just does it for poops and giggles and the hunt for that "rare" item.

one thing i don't understand, after 3 months of nonpayment and you lose the locker, so if you have 30k in restaurant equipment in storage why are you not paying the fee?
