Boards Archive] |
Welcome to the Vault Network
forum archive.
This is not a complete archive, time didn't allot us the
opportunity to properly backup the majority of the boards
deemed "expendable". Most boards on this list have at least
20-40 pages archived (non-logged in pages, 15 topics per
page).
Popular boards may have as many as 250 pages archived at 50
topics per page, while others deemed of historical
signifigance may be archived in their entirety.
We may not agree with how the board shutdown was managed, but
we've done what we could to preserve some of its history in
lieu of that.
Please enjoy the archive.

I run win7 64 bit and randomly crash when using decal. Most often this happens upon changing characters. Is there a solution for this?

Yes.. restart the client. Seriously though, I think the root cause is because some plugins don't release the resources fast enough. If you wait a little longer when swapping out characters, then you should be ok. Whenever I'm doing something where I'm swapping characters fast (like Summoning), I unload decal. It makes logging in and out a lot faster.

This happens completely at completely random times. Although it seems to happen more if my client/s have been running for more than an hour. A lot of the time i wont even log off and one client will crash while the others stay up. Switching between chars usually makes it happen faster. I find myself having to exit all clients a lot of the time because ACDC screws up the load and my client will be nearly frozen upon log in. Then i normally have to restart my computer because ACDC gets bugged. Its really annoying to do a quest with 2 clients and have to restart because of a crash. On another note. My labtop is old as dirt, running win vista, and never crashes. I dont really understand.

Disable decal view rendering. It's available in decal 2.9.6.5 Open decal agent. Click options. check Disable View Rendering. the classic decal renderer is prob the biggest source of ac crashes along with ltx and the darkside filter. Use virindi plugins and plugins that support VVS.

Welp. I did this, and it is running smooth, or so it seems. But after about 30 minutes of a few clients running, boom one crashed while logged in. I wasnt even using that client atm, i was talking in /a on another client. Anyway, I then tried to pull it up from ACDC, but it was bugged, and now I have to restart my computer again.
Is there anything else I can do?
