I really know next to nothing about these things but I do know two things I want: Dual Microphones for improved noise canceling and caller-id announcements, less than $100.

Suggestions? Thanks!

I've really liked both of my BlueAnt headsets. I got my wife a jawbone and she was less than pleased with it but it still worked well. I dont know about the jawbone but my Blueants would announce caller and ask to "answer or ignore" as well as operate all phone voice functions with a push of a button. The noise cancelling from what I've been told was excellant. I worked in a very noisy environment with machinery and such in the background and I would switch the noise cancellation on and off while on a call and the caller would comment with a question as whether I had gone into my office.
The newer version has the noise cancellation on all the time and will cancel out a 25 mph wind noise.

Thanks for the suggestion. I looked into the Q2, the non rugged model they offer and it fits all of my requirements to a T. Plus, its very well reviewed and its not as expensive as that Jawbone nonsense. Win Win. I'll post here once it comes in tomorrow.

So far I've had the headset for a day. The stand by time is admirable and I have no complaints with the battery. Using a smartphone, I generally recharge every night regardless, so YMMV there. Call clarity is simply outstanding. This headset is clearer than the earpiece in my Droid X2. Call recipients report hearing me 'just fine', no wind tunnel, no nonsense.

The device comes with a few ear buds and an ear hook. I am using the ear bud with the extra support to forgo the ear hook and, I gotta say, unless I go for a jog this guy is not leaving my ear. It is comfortable and snug on the 'medium' sized ear bud.

The android app that reads back text messages is fantastic for driving, but unfortunately Android Phone commands only does so much in regards to sending a message. It will open the app up but it will not give me the option to SPEAK my message and send it. This could be PEBKAC and I'm working on it.

BlueAnt has a deal set up with MS Bing 411 so if I press the button, say Movies and my zip code, it will automatically call Bing 411 and give me movie times. Or weather. Etc. Very useful.

Further, the device syncs your entire contact log almost instantly. No reading phone numbers, just names. For example, I usually hear, 'Call From: Erin' if my girlfriend calls me. I simply say Answer or press the button to begin the conversation and to end the call, I press the button.

It is small, light, comfortable and very well featured. Thusfar this has been an excellent purchase.

Plantronics, Motorola, Jawbone and BlueAnt are all great headset makers, from what I've read. The talk time on the Era is mediocre, from everything I read, so I skipped it.

I downloaded Vlingo on the market and now I really am totally hands free. Send or receive msgs and it automagically activates when I connect my device.

Love the Jawbones I have owned, but now that I have BT integrated with my car, I don't use one.  Loved them for years and never had any issues.
