Well, the .dat file is actually "Client_Portal.dat" so if it's spelled the way you show above, *shrug* I thought skunkworks died years ago? And, I've never, ever heard of "Garage Bot", so I can't help much

I just had this same problem a few days ago and never got it properly resolved. This happened to me on a brand new install of Win 7 64 but I've had it working without this problem on the exact same system in the past. Anyway, I ended up reinstalling my OS again and just installed every pre-requisite I could find as well as lots of other plugins BEFORE I tried installing Skunkworks. And yes, Skunkworks is still around, and it's fantastic! I use it extensively to move around my army of 50 chars and coax them to do interesting things!

Heres my assumption of the situation, i just dont know the solution. So for windows 7 and decal to get along, you need to install asherons call to: C:/Games/Asherons call In 2003 (I think thats when skunkworks was made) Windows 7 did not exist, it shouldnt be too much of a problem if it was installed in C:/program files/turbine/asherons call Because its looking for C:/Program files/Turbine/Asherons call/Client_Portal.dat But instead its right here: C:/Games/Asherons call/Client_Portal.dat I'm pretty sure thats the problem, but i dont know how to fix it.

http://forums.cameroncole.com/index.php?s=41fc6c58b340e4f9226ec29f2067bdd9&showtopic=11840 If you do not already have 3.5.5 installed do that first. Then installed the update files in the second post on that thread. EDIT: just saw in your sig that you already updated it.

I think you have to leave skunkworks installed in the default directory that it wants to install it to. Did you change the directory during installation?

In my case, all of mine were installed in non-default directories: C:/AC, C:/Decal. C:/SkunkWorks...so that wasn't the problem. It has to be some pre-requisite install that SkunkWorks relies on, because the 2nd time I installed, that was the only thing I did differently. I followed the links in the stickies here on the Utilities forum and also installed a bunch of stuff from Microsoft downloads.

What I am saying is that skunkworks could require that you have it in the default directory. I have never changed it on my systems and it works fine.

It doesn't. I've installed it all over the place. When I originally got the error about not being able to access the .dat file, I copied them into the skunkworks directory and also installed skunkworks into the AC directory...it just had other errors after that. I've installed Skunkworks on several machines and not had any problems. But usually that was as part of installing all of my plugins. This time I installed Skunkworks as one of the first plugins. So I suspect it's a pre-req or something that it's getting from another plugin that enables it to work. So when I reinstalled I did it like I usually did and it worked. I should note that I started the script engine first and actually got the error, but then I started AC and when it loaded up SW worked perfectly from then on out.
