This is not a complete archive, time didn't allot us the
opportunity to properly backup the majority of the boards
deemed "expendable". Most boards on this list have at least
20-40 pages archived (non-logged in pages, 15 topics per
page).
Popular boards may have as many as 250 pages archived at 50
topics per page, while others deemed of historical
signifigance may be archived in their entirety.
We may not agree with how the board shutdown was managed, but
we've done what we could to preserve some of its history in
lieu of that.
Please enjoy the archive. ~

Topic: Apple denied "multi touch" trademark. USPTO says too generic.
WOW, USPTO actually denied an Apple patent (mark this historic day on your calendar). They found "multi-touch" has a generic meaning and Apple can't patent it.
One of the things Apple is suing Samsung over is it's "multi-touch" patent. So at last Samsung finally has some good news.
And this is just for the US. The Germans claim Apple patented "thin and modern". Too much Oktoberfest I think.
Update: I was a little sleepy and missed something. I originally said Apple was denied the "multi-touch patent". They were actually denied the "multi-touch trademark". Apple can't trademark the word. So I believe that means Apple still has a patent on actual multi-touch functions. So I guess not good news for Samsung after all. Sorry.
