There are still a lot of classes in game I haven't tried, most of them Midgard or Albion classes. However, being somewhat of an alt-aholic, I think I have at least tried every Hibernian class. Some I've liked, kept and leveled to 50. Some, I just never really bothered with after they got to Thidranki. Then there are those who found their way off my loading screen completely with a click of the delete button. I must have rolled 4 or 5 animists over the years. None of them have ever made it past level 24. To me, they are just the most frustrating class to try to level on a solo basis. I'm not sure why but I just never quite got the hang of them. I just got frustrated, and gave up early. They wear cloth, have no defense and die way too much...at least in the beginning while you're learning to play them. I just never had the patience. Maybe with all the recent and upcoming battleground changes, I'll give them just one more try. This week,Topic of the Week wants to know, is there one class in game that frustrates you? If you have an idea for a topic you'd like to see, please drop me a line.

Animists became a lot easier to figure out when they nerfed the hell out of the FnF pets and made Arb the only viable spec. Target the yellow and nuke, nuke, nuke isn't tough.
As for classes I don't like: Vamps, Maulers, things that rely on the fugly CD style animations (Bow ranger? Ok. CD ranger? Go home). To a lesser degree than CD, I dislike Left Axe. Not because it has a fugly animation, but because it has a single animation.
Not a fan of Cabbies or Sorcs, I like Winstrels but don't like playing them.
This not being an RvR server, if I'm going Dual Wield I'll take Merc and hit points over Infiltrator and stealth.
Wizards take it in the shorts. They are the weakest PBAE class if spec'd for that, lack utility if spec'd for DD's, and have a fugly Epic. They do get a pretty champ stick.
Conversely, Runies and Elds get the utility and pretty epics. I've never levelled either one, but kinda like them anyhow.

I never could get into friars. I'm a fan of reactionary styles and to me the anytime/frontal styles of a friar really leave no reason other than to spam the same things over and over.

Now, this used to be an easy question to answer. Animists. I didnt like them, and found them annoying to play and to group with .... then vamps and maulers came out, and those sucked too. But it was a nerf to what used to be my favorite class, that has moved them to dead last on my list. Friars. They used to rock. The relied heavily on evade, and spammed reactionaries like mad. Because of the way that evade scales up on gaheris vs. mobs rather than players, we had this awesome ability called dodger that made friars virtually a tank, and sometimes better than a shield to hold aggro. They didnt have a lot of utility in the way of heals, and only the base buffs to hand out. No group end reduction or haste ... just bases. .... but they kicked a** to play. You could solo anywhere, and be the madly evading, stick swinging, dress wearing brit that you were meant to be. .... and then it was gone. No more dodger, and mythic realized that they had made a class who's dynamic was based on a RA. But since the RA was no more, they had to try and pimp the friar with spamalot style heal spells and even a dd? WTH? It wasnt needed, and it totally changed the way the class was played and viewed. Before, the friar was welcomed for the raw dps it could put out, the 'oh-s***' healing, and bases. Now its for healing and haste. Weak. My friar that i think most people still know me as, is now nothing more than a craft bot who has not been out of housing in who knows how long. Worst. Toon. Ever.

I'd consider a Bainshee a Reaver spec'd 100 in Soulrend. With the added disadvantage of no shield, no armor, less hits, and the inability to move while the pulse is running.
The sick range on their taunt is nice, and they have some neat abilities. But having to root yourself to use your DPS is not generally a plus. Unless you are a grogan or relic mob destroying bot with a blockbot. And I say that even though the Bain is not on my hate list. Just trying to explain why others feel it's not really a pbae class.

Bains are about to make a serious comeback on Gaheris though because their pbaoe is uninturruptable and that rules in the Grand Summoner encounter. I personally do not enjoy the Hero class. If I am going with a main tank I would prefer the warrior's weapon versatility or the armsman's plate absorption.

a gimp. granted mmos change and its been a good 2 years since ive played, but thats how i remember them. its like the lazy multiboxers pbae class. and i really dont understand why you would play one live. i also didnt like reavers as guardbots much, but they did have a few things that were nice and their guard was fine for 99% of things. edit: hero is fun for the moose and if you are keen the mini moose. that alone should keep it off the this list.

<--- plays a keen hero for the minimoose. (and the backflips) edit: well, and the insane dex and high WS make him a crazy good blocker. I can honestly say I have not played with anyone better. (some i would rate equals, but none better)

I would say the Warlock . I suppose once a player gets the hang of chambering spells before casting spells, they are okay to play. That is the only class I could not get into. The majority of the casters in this game all you need to do is click the spell icon and your spell does its intended job. Warlock spells require the player to chamber the spell before it can be fired. That can get a person beat up fast if the spell gets resisted, as opposed to normal casters quick casting a stun or root, kiting, turning around and resuming fire. I am not a fan .

Sorcs are kinda useless here. Champions I feel were all cookie cutter. Bainshees are awesome, the problem is people who try and play them like they're an eldrich or runemaster. root pbae is amazing, they get a dd + dex/qui debuff spec nuke. The only problem with bains is they need a ton of power.

Mauler. I'm too ADD to play it. It's followed closely by Vampiir. Trying a Bain now, but jury's still out.

there isnt any class that i dont like really but there is ones i wont play here on gaheris because there is no real point to. Ment, skald, all assassians, vamp, mauler, sorc, and bonedance. These classes i found have little to no use on gaheris besides soloing if you enjoy the class itself.

ok, its funny you mention skald, because of all the classes i have (and i have a LOT of different toons, almost all rr5-6+, including a few rr9s and an rr11)) ... its the Skald that my guild asks me to play most in keep groups. speed, ablative, crack, dmg add, resists, AM, AotG, SoS, and all while swinging a 2h weapon for dmg. is it necessary? no. does it make things go faster? yes does it help the healers and casters cast more and heal less respectively? yes. does it increase melee dps? yes.

The skald is a perfect 4th, 7th, or 8th toon in a keep group. In that spot, they are amazing. Taking a spot in what would otherwise be a pbae trio, they are weak.
It's going to be my guess that Wrath is talking about being #4 or #7. In which case he is 100% correct, the skald is a winner.
Bonedancers aren't useless on Gaheris, they are just specialized epic mob wreckers. Add the ML9 pet to Juggernaut, TWF, and NM and you are set to crush some big mob's dreams. The problem for the BD is adds and getting to the big mob in the first place.

I actually enjoyed levelling all my toons except the healer.. I would hate to delete any of my older toons (except the damn healer) but if i were to delete one that i really enjoyed levelling it would be the necro. no real use anymore.. I play my pally, ice wiz, tic, scout, cleric and thug mostly cause they fit in groups/bg's fer stuff i enjoy.. being all alb means i don't hafta even change realms.. convenience more than anything else fer that.. Almost fergot my favorite solo toon.. Friar yes dodger was great but the loss only gimped those those who depended on that. still best pure solo toon imho thats my two-bits

bard healing is getting gimped pretty hard. they are losing the greater heal line entirely. think they were rare before? they will be even rarer. and yes asber, i was meaning a skald in the sense of a 4th, 7th, or 8th. they dont steal the show, or even come close. they are a un-necessary utility class that adds to the group, but that the group is not dependent on. edit: and old school, how could you have a friar that was NOT dependent on dodger? Without it they were kinda crap if you wanted to kill something larger than groups of vicious oranges.

i always just used the group heal, it was the highest delve i think in the whole game. i think i would use the major heal from time to time. i suppose if i wasnt able to heal simultaneously with bard and shaman major heals then i would have used a greater heal, but the power ratio is bad on them. i still think with out greater heal line bards are great for keeps.
