Hello TD,
I've been back for a few weeks now, trying to re-orient myself with all these new fancy hoohaas.
So far, doing pretty well. Solo grinding in 110 Eaters for quite some time (I'm 126 now) and I decided things were going a bit slow. I dropped into Matron Hive East and promptly got my posterior handed to me.
So... help! In general they just ripped me apart.
I'm spec sword/meleeD. Is it simply a case of my melee D not being high enough? My armor not being strong enough? I don't have a tinked suit, so that may be my first solution, but I don't really have 80 bags of steel lying around.
General opinions of how to survive would be greatly appreciated. Also, any advice with regards to speeding up leveling would be awesome.

Armor - Ancient Relic from Blackmires, al 440. I generally run on a monthly basis. Also, there may be a good chance that someone in your clan has a set lying around.
Weapon - tink with some brass.
Cantrips - a major invlunerability item. Also, silken wrap undies from Hidden Entrance quest adds +10 to melee\magic\missle def.

The Ancient Relic armor, isn't that 150+? Seems like it's a long trip from 126 to 150. Took me 3 weeks to get from 110 to 126.

Sorry, I meant Ancient Armor, not relic. AA is 100+.

I will not be in game until next week. Busy long weekend at the cottage and all that!
It is entirely possible I have a suit of that stashed away. The only thing is my current suit of armor has a bunch of Majors that I wouldn't want to lose. I can look into buying some bracelets/rings/trinkets that might take care of them though.
I will look into my mules to see if I have a suit, if not, I'd like to join on your next run.

Also, what are your innates? If you have 10 quickness you may want to consider transfering a few points from another innate, such as willpower, focus or endurance. Of course, I am assuming that strength\coordination are at 100.

Is it basically that I need to get my melee D up? I've been sinking all xp into getting sword to 400 (got a nice major defender 400 req pierce just waiting to go!)

I have moderate invuln on my Nefane Shield. I've been slowly saving up MMDs to buy an armor upgrade kit to make it major.

Armor of Darkness is nice, lvl 125+ wield, self banes, full suit gets you +20 STR endur and i believe you get 20 HP extra total with fullsuit also
