Boards Archive] |
Welcome to the Vault Network
forum archive.
This is not a complete archive, time didn't allot us the
opportunity to properly backup the majority of the boards
deemed "expendable". Most boards on this list have at least
20-40 pages archived (non-logged in pages, 15 topics per
page).
Popular boards may have as many as 250 pages archived at 50
topics per page, while others deemed of historical
signifigance may be archived in their entirety.
We may not agree with how the board shutdown was managed, but
we've done what we could to preserve some of its history in
lieu of that.
Please enjoy the archive.

Virindi Classis Looter, and Celdon Colors

I'm trying to set up a loot rule for grabbing a particular color of celdon. I have seen examples of this on Silo's website, and modified them by running /vt propertydump, and using the colors given for my inputs in the config. Yesterday I picked up a piece of legs that had the right icon, so I was sure it was working. To my dismay, however, they were a shade off. I think I configured what I thought was the RGB for Pewter, but instead picked up Silver. So I double checked my color values with propertydump, and found out that the in game color ID (show by DCS) is the same for various pieces with Pewter veins, but the actual RGB differs for each slot when shown with propertydump. Since Classic Lottery requires the RGB value, I'm not sure how to resolve this. Can anyone give me some feedback on how to get this right? My current rule has Veins: 9d9d9d max diff (hue) 10, max diff (s/v) .1. The first item I checked was also pewter, but the rgb was 8d8d8d/ Thanks!

the max diff (hue) 10 allows it to pick up items that are close... lower the hue diff and you will get more exact color matches. However I think you will find that only you will know the color is off a shade

This is to help my patron out, who has 7 mules especially reserved for Celdon, and I'm sure *he* will notice So if I set the hue to 0, I will only pick up exact matches? Can you explain why two different pieces, say sleeves and legs, both with Pewter veins, show different RGB values on /vt propertydump?

Can you post the "/vt propertydump" outputs from both items? I'm pretty sure what you have are two different shades, but either the human eye can't tell the different or your video card (or settings thereof) doesn't have the power to display that clear enough...
I'm going through the same thing as you trying to find a certain armor type with a certain color trim. I was shocked to see how many different shades of the same color this loot generator is pumping out. I'm convinced it's just spitting out random numbers for the color slots and has no idea what color the numbers relate to.

Ok, heres some examples. Sleeves: DCS: New Growth-1117 Silver-1161 VT PropertyDump: [VTank] Palette Entry 0: ID 0x00045D, Ex Color: 48940A, 96/12 [VTank] Palette Entry 1: ID 0x00045D, Ex Color: 51A10B, 116/12 [VTank] Palette Entry 2: ID 0x000489, Ex Color: 9D9D9D, 108/8 [VTank] Palette Entry 3: ID 0x000489, Ex Color: 9D9D9D, 128/8 Legs: DCS: New Growth-1117 Pewter-1160 VT PropertyDump: [VTank] Palette Entry 0: ID 0x00045D, Ex Color: 59A000, 136/16 [VTank] Palette Entry 1: ID 0x000488, Ex Color: 8D8D8D, 152/8 So in this example, the Sleeves and Legs both feature "New growth" as the base color. The Palette entry ID is the same in both dcs and vt. But 1) The rgb values differ between both, and 2) why does the sleeves have 4 entries, rather than 2? Which do I use?

Sorry, I had RL AC issues this weekend. hehe, (Air Conditioner went out)
And after that got fixed the fridge/freezer went out, well it needed a serious de-frosting. I guess sticking your head in there to cool down is a bad idea....
I will try and follow up on this tonight if i can, i have a fair amount of celdon I can look through as examples.
Where exactly are you pulling these color names from with their ID#'s? "new-growth, pewter"

These names come out of the DCS plugin used for identifying armor colors. I spoke with the author, and as I understand it, the easiest way for him to discriminate was by the icon color, not the actually color of the base or vein. I'm guessing its because of the same color that I am running in to, that the RGB values for various pieces of the same color family are actually different. Anyway, I would love to see what you come up with.

Basically DCS,VT,Tings helps locate similar possible color matches but is not 100%. Issue is that plugin/Decal Devs have not figured out how to do this accurately. About a year ago I started an effort to do more R & D on this but I stopped working on it. I added some R&D beta code to allow people to manually correct/determine color but never received the data back to further my investigations. I really never needed DCS so my interest is low on this now.

Move_HG posted: VT PropertyDump:

Ok, best I can figure, we want to focus on the RGB value and ignore the ID value when using Clasic Looter...
As for why sleves have those 2 extra palette entry's, i have no clue.
