Boards Archive] |
Welcome to the Vault Network
forum archive.
This is not a complete archive, time didn't allot us the
opportunity to properly backup the majority of the boards
deemed "expendable". Most boards on this list have at least
20-40 pages archived (non-logged in pages, 15 topics per
page).
Popular boards may have as many as 250 pages archived at 50
topics per page, while others deemed of historical
signifigance may be archived in their entirety.
We may not agree with how the board shutdown was managed, but
we've done what we could to preserve some of its history in
lieu of that.
Please enjoy the archive.

Galaxy Tab 10.1 delayed in Australia, stopped in most of Europe.

Apple is fighting Samsung over the design of several products including the Galaxy Tab 10.1. They allege that the products are stealing Apple's design and appearance or something like that. Apple filed lawsuits in several countries. And it looks like the wins are now starting to roll in. They won a victory in Australia that prevented Samsung from launching the Galaxy Tab 10.1 in that country. And now they won in Europe. The Galaxy Tab 10.1 launched a week ago, but a German court ruled that Samsung must immediately stop selling and advertising the tablet (someone reported they also have to pull products from retail shelves). Netherlands is excluded because they have different patent laws, but Apple has a separate lawsuit there too. http://fosspatents.blogspot.com/2011/08/preliminary-injunction-granted-by.html Looks grim for Samsung. I agree the Galaxy products resemble some Apple products, but I think this is pretty common. I think Apple is just upset that Android is doing so well and using this an excuse.
