Boards Archive] |
Welcome to the Vault Network
forum archive.
This is not a complete archive, time didn't allot us the
opportunity to properly backup the majority of the boards
deemed "expendable". Most boards on this list have at least
20-40 pages archived (non-logged in pages, 15 topics per
page).
Popular boards may have as many as 250 pages archived at 50
topics per page, while others deemed of historical
signifigance may be archived in their entirety.
We may not agree with how the board shutdown was managed, but
we've done what we could to preserve some of its history in
lieu of that.
Please enjoy the archive.

http://www.brightsideofnews.com/news/2011/8/8/amd-starts-selling-system-memory-radeon-branded-ddr3-arrives.aspx Pretty weird, AMD is selling Radeon branded DDR3 memory modules. Sadly no cool looking heatspreader (at least on the model shown) and the specs are a bit low end too.

Weird, they cannot be making them. Wonder who actually made the chips?

Good question Besides the anonymous memory manufacturer who builds and sells these DIMM modules to AMD

Perhaps AMD had a surplus of memory chips?

Memory performance (except GPU memory of course) is overrated anyway. The gain between DDR2 and DDR3 in overall system performance is marginal, if there's one. For a graphic card, memory performance will give huge overall performance increases, but not for computer RAM. Not anymore. Not past DDR2.
