A FULLY functional (and awesome) matchmaking, in game cosmetic store (some of the stuff is pretty funny, they have different announcers, alternate skins with complete new animations/sounds/etc, other little things) but this has NO bearing whatsoever on in game mechanics, patches every week, a new hero roughly every 2, and aside from the problem with the hackers a month ago or so there is almost 0 server downtime.
For other general things about the game for those who are interested and so i dont get persecuted for not adding to the discussion again. This game was originally created to improve the DotA experience because of the limitations of the WC3 engine, so originally the game was basically a DIRECT port aside from a few brand new heroes made by the company. upon purchase of an account (one time fee of $30 bucks, and every 2-3 months or so they have a sale for $10 accounts, a steal imo) you have IMMEDIATE access to ALL ingame content outside of the cosmetic store. That is every single hero that is out and is released in the future, all modes of gameplay (if you are familiar with DOTA you will know these: All Pick, Single Draft, Ban Draft, Ban Pick, All Random). You have access to mods that let you tune your UI a little bit to your liking that had its own dedicated subforum. Not to mention a LOT less 12 year olds due to needing a credit card to purchase the game (there is a problem of a decent amount of brazillians who are typically very bad and do not like to communicate). There is very little issue with leavers in HoN due to having punishment for those who do, and there is a pause function available if someone on your team crashes. The video engine and game mechanics play out much smoother than LoL's does. The community is very competitive so there are a decent amount of people who are, shall we say, less than friendly in game. This shouldn't be an issue if you queue with friends and/or don't have your head up your ass. I am sure there is plenty other stuff that i missed but thats the general idea.

Yes, it will definitely be available through sunday, possibly longer they didn't say when it was going to end.
There are only 4 global ults and they are all on a pretty long cool down. I don't even think twice about denies, but thats cause ive been used to them since i started playing the genre (DOTA --> HoN). Its just another resource that you can use.
All in all the game is just more fast paced than LoL. It is much more common to have lots of ganking going on in the early/mid game and hero kills typically tend to accumulate faster than LoL does

I'll probably play it this week as the wife is taking the baby with her up to visit with her friend until Friday. After that, who knows ... I might get some time here and there.
I'm waiting for Valve to release DoTA2 for free on Steam though!

A few days ago I picked this up, but haven't played a game yet because there doesn't seem to be a good AI mode to practice in before I throw myself to their apparently toxic community.
Then this happens:
