I saw this today and thought it should be read by all, since there is so much talk of A-holes and whatnot in WOW today. http://www.cracked.com/blog/the-7-biggest-dick-moves-in-history-online-gaming/ WOW makes the list twice.

Eve also made the list twice. Fifty seven percent of the positions are filled by two games.

The horrible cock-mobile mindlessly pressing against fake women brought down her entire server, generated a lot of publicity for the event and gave TV executives the idea for Jersey Shore. From #2 lmfao holy p00p

I like this reply: "If MMORPG players were around when God said, "Let their be light" they'd have called the light gay, and plunged the universe back into darkness by squatting their nutsacks over it."

Considering SWG is in the news lately, I am surprised "Pay to See the Wookie" didn't make that list. That was classic shenanigans. Also, no AC1 Darktide? You could see more anarchy and E-crime as any of those in any given five minutes near Holtburg in its' heyday.

Those are all pretty good, but I like the EVE ones most simply because everything was done entirely within the game rules. Anyone can try to come up with some way to exploit bugs or other unintended loopholes in the game code, but it is on a whole new level to come up with ways to do it with the sanction of the game company

I've always been intrigued by that aspect of EVE, just can't get past the rest of the game's UI/mechanics.

Nothing was more true in that list than "If MMORPG players were around when God said, "Let their be light" they'd have called the light gay, and plunged the universe back into darkness by squatting their nutsacks over it.

Yeah, its sorta neat actually. Short of a situation involving actually hacking something, there is very little recourse for someone who has been scammed. You can publicize it and trash the person's rep, but they've pretty much already gotten away with it. Now, you can hunt them down and fight them when you see them, but that isn't always viable. You could try to hire your own mercs to go after them, but again that isn't necessarily going to work out either, and still wont get you back the stuff you lost. Now, a LOT of the scams you see regularly are just idiotic. They are out there in the hopes that some moron will be stupid enough to fall for it. Others are more sophisticated, and if you don't know what to look for you could easily be caught up in one.
