Anyone else?
Its a step in the right direction but it was horrifyingly boring, i quit at like 45.
I hate games that talk about pvp like its actually content in the game, it was just WoW pvp lol.
Back to playing minecraft and my other arsenal of boring games that i have played too much (CS lol)

Yeah I had some great times in Rift, not going to completely discount it. Having said that, it's not the type of game you can just keep pvping in after 50 and have a blast. I literally pvp'd to 46 (the level I quit at) doing a minimal amount of quests and by 40 it was getting stale. There's open world pvp, but in this particular game, that got boring before the battlegrounds did because you are just attacking people that are trying to do quests. I like the combat, I like my class (rogue assassin), but I don't like the limited pvp options and ultimately I quit after 1-2 months. I know pvp is a niche, but is it really that hard to just implement a pvp zone that you can go to? just seems like the people developing these games don't have enough of an open mind, and think copy wow = success and they don't really want to step outside of that. I'd have a hard time telling you how Rift is that much different from WoW. At the end of the day, it's not.

They are implementing some sort of big open pvp area, kind of like NF but i doubt it will be worth reupping and grinding the last 5 levels.

Quitting at 45 isn't a good indicator of what the game really is. You didn't even get to participate in the last BG. However, as someone who played for 2 months and did a lot of endgame content, I can tell you that you made the right decision by leaving.
Rift is a PvE game even more so than WoW because at least in WoW you don't have to PvE in order to PvP. Even the latest upcoming 1.4 patch that's supposed to be the "PvP patch" looks bad and die-hard Rift fanbois will even tell you that Rift is a PvE game.
Rift has a great class system and had a relatively polished launch, but I'm not going to do expert dungeons every day just so I can eventually PvP, and then have to do more dungeons a month later when they release new content.
@Cyan - there's no way you could have known it would get boring. They promised uber PvP. The ONLY thing they need to do is make PvP gear just as good (OR GOD FORBID BETTER) than PvE gear for PvPing, and release better PvP gear every time they release new PvE gear.
Age of Conan currently has the best PvP gear system due to PvP-specific stats that avoid making PvP gear too good for PvE nerds, but amazing for PvPers.
