Boards Archive] |
Welcome to the Vault Network
forum archive.
This is not a complete archive, time didn't allot us the
opportunity to properly backup the majority of the boards
deemed "expendable". Most boards on this list have at least
20-40 pages archived (non-logged in pages, 15 topics per
page).
Popular boards may have as many as 250 pages archived at 50
topics per page, while others deemed of historical
signifigance may be archived in their entirety.
We may not agree with how the board shutdown was managed, but
we've done what we could to preserve some of its history in
lieu of that.
Please enjoy the archive.

I recall statements that, due to the way AC was programmed and functions, a micro-transaction system is impossible to implement without re-writing / re-coding the entire thing from scratch. Or, in short, AC will simply cease to exist when nostalgia no longer convinces them to support a money sink.

With how much people hate anyone who macros/exploits/game's the system their way to the top already, I think you would see a lot of people quit with a F2P option where people could now directly buy advantages.
AC survives because of the niche style of game it is. The same crowd that likes that style of game enough to be playing it for 11 years is the same crowd that likely hates microtransactions. I doubt those transactions would bring in enough other players/generate enough money to cover the loss of the subscriptions.
