Boards Archive] |
Welcome to the Vault Network
forum archive.
This is not a complete archive, time didn't allot us the
opportunity to properly backup the majority of the boards
deemed "expendable". Most boards on this list have at least
20-40 pages archived (non-logged in pages, 15 topics per
page).
Popular boards may have as many as 250 pages archived at 50
topics per page, while others deemed of historical
signifigance may be archived in their entirety.
We may not agree with how the board shutdown was managed, but
we've done what we could to preserve some of its history in
lieu of that.
Please enjoy the archive.

Both computers are using wireless internet. When I attempt to login to one of my accounts with one of my laptops while the other is logged into AC through a seperate account, it boots the character from the world that is already logged in. I was wondering if there was a way to get around this. Thanks in advance.

Do you use AC Dual Client or something like that? If so, you can assign the computers different ports to log into. You could also port forward the ports via your router. I would guess that both computers are trying to use the same port so the 2nd account you try boots the first. I am no expert, but thats my guess. You need to have the 2 computers use 2 different ports. Cr

IF you have a linksys router, find the QoS (Quality of Service) setting and enable it... My brother had the same issue. Basically your connection doesn't know it's 2 seperate computers playing so the packets get F'd up and mixed up... Once I enabled that for him his 2 PC's have been able to play fine ever since.

open the My Documents/Asheron's Call folder
look for file UserPreferences.INI
Make a backup copy
Open file with notepad
search for line: UserSpecifiedPort=9000
change the 9000 value to 9005
BOTH computers have this same DEFAULT setting, and it's confusing the router that BOTH comptuers are attempting to use the same port. once you set the ini file so one is using 9000 and the other 9005 you shouldn't have any more issues.
