"Whether you're in a battleground or in an arena or even just out questing, be sure to look around at potential places to use LoS to your advantage when fighting against your opponents. Many times you can make fights a whole lot easier by using corners, pillars, buildings, ect."

Ummm...dude. The sad part is tho, so many have no idea what LoS means. And fairly often there are pulls that can be made so much easier if you use it. I spend a lot of time educating new tanks on how to use this pulling technique when I'm running on my dps or heals.

WoW needs more people like you (well based on this comment anyhow)! 
after being gone for quite some time off i did a lowbie dungeon and i told the group i was a first time tank and was out of the WoW loop and didn't want to be the main tank.
after a few hiccups i left because they were douches and instead of instructing they berated.

After playing a Melee char throughout Vanilla, BC and for most of WOTLK, it does take a while to get used to it.
By default I would stand in the open and wait to get my arse handed to me in BG's by some friendly War or DK that took a like to me... But, as a SPriest it is actually quite a potent skill if you can do it effectively.
I still haven't mastered it, but I'm definately more thoughtful about where I stand...

why would using terrain, whether it's pillars or hills or whatever, be "uncool" in a RPG? is the stats of your character really all people want to matter? movement, and using terrain, and other "active" strategies aren't the "cool" way to play?

So dragging out a match for 20 minutes because some pillar humping resto druid just doesn't want to admit that the last guy on the other team is going to kill him as soon as he catches up with him is "cool?" Finding a glitch in the corner of a box where you can heal your team while the other guys have to position themselves in exactly the right spot to hit you is "cool?" Standing behind a little weed that's bugged because you can shoot out while others can't shoot back is "cool?"
Or am I misunderstanding your point?
