Hello fellow Gaheris members, I've been away from the game on vacation for over a year now and am looking to get my Armsman Template Up to date so to speak. I'll post what I have on at the moment and if anyone can help boost a stat higher then what mine is currently along with some explanation as to why they changed that particular item would be so much appreciated. I will even go as far as to offer Dread Seals, Dragon Scales, or that rare particular item that you might seek I'm sure I have, and will part with for this information if necessary. I only offer "stuff" because I am fully aware of how hard sometimes it can be to make the perfect template for a toon you might not have yourself. And time isn't free and I realize that so here goes.
Info about my character, to make your templates better for him is as follows
Armsman-Thorious, RR12, ML10, CL10
The type of template I seek is this: I want to be able to tank with a ton of hit points, Block almost 100 hits out of 100 while guarding a caster as such, and yet even be able to solo red to purple mobs on my own with only my personal buffs, not running a bot.
So far my realm ranks are as follows: If you can make them better please post here, all info is welcomed

That should be everything I am wearing at this moment, I switch out Elemental damage dealing weapons when on raids but that's a no brainier, and use a stardrop before I self buff to help with that as well. So yeah if anyone can help out, I would be immensely grateful and rewarding if it comes to that just lemme know

Would It be as easy as just replacing my Magma shield with this one http://camelot.allakhazam.com/item.html?citem=26753 Its the Apoc Shield dropped in NF, has the 10% Blocking and stuff, but here's the thing, I have no issue using a rare item, when it comes to the items that don't matter when there con gets to 70 and you can leave them be, but with shields they will need to be replaced, so at this time how rare is this Apoc shield? I would have to make sure it can be replaced every time the dur hits 0.

Baldur's Fortification is medium so you don't want that. If the issue is con (and unless you are lucky with apoc shields or don't play your blocker often it usually is) you could go with 2 of these:

And then go with either a crafted shield or a large shield dropped by any dragon. The pro is you have perma 10% to parry and block %, the cons are those rings have less than desirable utility, and they are a time consuming pain to farm because they rarely drop
The Sentient Tower Shield from Vanjorndor is a good alternative choice because you can solo that mob with a friar or valk, but it is also a rare drop and you have to deal with respawn time to boot. Also, no bonus to parry %
Just comes to which seems the most desirable course of action

Apoc is not easily replaced or gotten in the first place, id avoid templates with it in it, but if u wanna go for it i can give u a very nice temp. That said i would try and stick with a temp that has one of the following: Crafted shield, dragon weapon quest shield (don't lose dur) or shield of lifeless dreams (doesnt have 10% block but will make you only have to put in one peice of jewelry with block % instead of two like with the crafted or dragon shield).

If you're going to be solo a lot, you want survivability. The procs from slayer armor and Sidi BP definitely help a lot. This template uses Fine Steel Long Sword and Gloom Warder spear for the celerity proc, which will help immensely when killing things solo, or to help hold agro while tanking. It's missing 15 dex and 1 shield skill, but the difference is negligable. My Paladin has a similar template, and I find her to be the best blocker I have, even with those 2 slight missing numbers.

I wouldnt give up that much dex. If you are going to get your 10% block from that overated shield you should at least have a more solid template that that.

15 dex equates to about 1%. I think you overestimate the utility of dex, especially considering the weapons used are str based.

I just looked at my 2 heroes... they have 80 dex templated and I have yet to have an issue with them. Anything from fins, to mass pulling nedfalls in trollheim. I honestly thought they had 101 dex because they blocked so well, but I just checked and sure enough, they have 80.

To each their own I suppose. I would much rather have the dex as opposed to say matter resist. I would also more than likely template in the chain healer bp along with shades etc but that is me.
The way I figure is a resist hole is going to make me take a little more dmg that can easily be healed in a controled PVE environment, however I cant cast a dex cap increase buff on one of my bots like i can a resist or heal.

He said he was soloing and tanking. You need all resists capped for tanking since the SI dragon updates.
Also: When fighting Myrddraxis, try keeping a tank with no body resist up on a solo healer~

If he is solo, then why can't he use Baldur's Fortification. I know it's a medium shield, but I've been using it on my warrior and it works just fine. I made a thread about this awhile back, probably on the second page by now.
