Boards Archive] |
Welcome to the Vault Network
forum archive.
This is not a complete archive, time didn't allot us the
opportunity to properly backup the majority of the boards
deemed "expendable". Most boards on this list have at least
20-40 pages archived (non-logged in pages, 15 topics per
page).
Popular boards may have as many as 250 pages archived at 50
topics per page, while others deemed of historical
signifigance may be archived in their entirety.
We may not agree with how the board shutdown was managed, but
we've done what we could to preserve some of its history in
lieu of that.
Please enjoy the archive.

Subject:
Would decal stop working if comp was assigned a new IP address?
|
Hi all,
Just reconfigured my machine to run with an assigned static IP and forwarded ports to allow AC to run well on the wireless network. But no I cannot get decal to inject. I'm not sure what the issue is. AC works fine if I start it with decal running (no crashes) but decal doesn't show up in game.
The machine is running win 7 x64 (even tho export says xp SP2) set for compatibility-
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Here's my export if it helps:

Would decal stop working if comp was assigned a new IP address?

I recently assigned static IP addresses to all the computers in my house. I had set specific ports for each IP address and changed the port assignments on my router accordingly. (i.e. make sure to tell your router the new IP address for each port). I can't say whether or not a static IP address would affect decal. I really doubt it, though. It will affect your AC client and acmulticlient, if you use that (I do and had to make the changes to each pc's multiclient program). Good luck

Since AC works, then your switch over to static IP was successful. Making this change really should not have impacted decal. Is the Decal Update button working? I would disable all the plugins and see if Decal bar shows. I would try changing the injection mode. I would switch back to using DHCP just to see if it begins to work again. It would validate that this change was really what broke decal. I hate spookies like this and wish you well in fixing this.

Not all wireless routers will work with AC.
