Boards Archive] |
Welcome to the Vault Network
forum archive.
This is not a complete archive, time didn't allot us the
opportunity to properly backup the majority of the boards
deemed "expendable". Most boards on this list have at least
20-40 pages archived (non-logged in pages, 15 topics per
page).
Popular boards may have as many as 250 pages archived at 50
topics per page, while others deemed of historical
signifigance may be archived in their entirety.
We may not agree with how the board shutdown was managed, but
we've done what we could to preserve some of its history in
lieu of that.
Please enjoy the archive.

Is Defending the Rift quest bugged?

So I finished practically every quest in Vash'jir, the first ocean zone, and what I'm assuming is the last quest popped up from that NPC that saved you in the beginning of the zone and helped you throughout. First time I did it, the game kicked me off right after the submarine cutscene, and then when I logged back on, I was in an empty sub (and did not see my breath bar, so after a minute or two I died from drowning). Couldn't get my body because apparently it was still on the sub, and it was in a different phase than mine, so I couldnt even see the sub either, and had to do a res from the NPC at the graveyard. I dropped the quest and kept doing it, but every single time shortly after I regain control of my character, the NPC's on the sub vanish then my breath bar shows up (no idea how I'm drowning inside the sub lol), forcing me to abandon the quest. I sent a bug report in, and apparently it can be done if you do it right after a server reset, but for others, has anyone completed it? This is the first time I've seen a quest I couldn't complete due to a bug, rather than because it was insanely difficult (doing a heroic instance quest with a less than ideal group for example). On a semi-related note, when you first get the quest to enter the sub, don't jump in the water at the bottom of the sub. I got left behind, and then when it stopped, I caught back up and went in, but didn't get credit for the quest, so had to swim back to the original starting point and ride it again.

It was on day one and two, but it has been working since as far as I know. I do know that server lag can take it's toll on quests on moving vehicles. I had issues on day 2 and 3 with the Submarine quests and the airship quest in Deepholm.

Currently in the MMO unemployment line. Can I get $15/month for not playing them?

Well, after the server reset, I was able to finish it. I hope they fix that issue soon though, because apparently you get two more quests for throne of the tides dungeon if you finish this quest first.
