Welcome to the Vault Network
forum archive.
This is not a complete archive, time didn't allot us the
opportunity to properly backup the majority of the boards
deemed "expendable". Most boards on this list have at least
20-40 pages archived (non-logged in pages, 15 topics per
page).
Popular boards may have as many as 250 pages archived at 50
topics per page, while others deemed of historical
signifigance may be archived in their entirety.
We may not agree with how the board shutdown was managed, but
we've done what we could to preserve some of its history in
lieu of that.

so if i upgrade to CAT via the digital download the next time i run the patcher how big of a patch will it download to be ready for CAT release? I don't have a download limit but i've been downloading like crazy this month from buying all these on sale games i don't want my ISP to flag me for it.

hmm so i'f i'm reading this correctly we already have CAT installed and installing the CAT disc will actually revert your game back to an older version. O-o, it seems that a lot of people are having issues because they are installing Wrath and BC discs when they already had wow patched to 4.03 and screwing up all their data files..

For those of you who (like me) didn't get the Digital Download pre-sale of Cataclysm.
You do NOT need the Cataclysm disc to install the game.
You already have all the Cataclysm information already on your computer.
Simply go to your account management page and update your account using the Account Upgrade Key once you get home.
If you use the Cataclysm DVD it will revert your game back to version 4.0.1, and you'll have to redownload patches to get back to 4.0.3a.

I'm on the EU servers so can't promise this will be accurate for you - I was fully patched then bought Cata yesterday from Blizz for digital download and had a ~130Mb patch to download.
Edit: I've just logged on this morning and had a launcher update at 15Mb and then it applied the patch but no further download required.

That is accurate.
When you purchase digital Cataclysm you will download about a 100mb patch. I would imagine this is something to with the cata only dungeons. You already have the meat of the expansion and are currently playing it
