I picked the yellow one because it was the best looking one of the bouquet...lol
I am getting another piece of plexiglass and painting one side gloss white, so I can do the same thing with a white background.
and thanks foxy! I am really enjoying taking pics now that I have a good camera.

Really nice picture, too bad the rose wasn't 100% :P
Next step is learning how to resize your photos
Well done though! I am a bit unsure if I like the composition or not, but I think it probably works best the way it is.

I can add an old tip as well.
If you're going for reflections like this, there are 3 ways to do it.
1. A mirror.
2. Glass with background (basically a mirror)
3. A reflective surface.
The advantage of a mirror, is that you'll get a very clear reflection. The same goes for the two others really. Now both 1 and 2 have one slight drawback. Since you're placing whatever you're taking a picture of, on the surface you're going to get two reflections, one on the surface of the glass, and one from the background you've got the glass on.
Most of the time those two reflections will be so close, you can't really tell them apart. (this is also why a thin mirror is better then a thick one)
The commonly percieved effect, is that the edges of the reflection is more blury then the object itself.
This is why it is better to use just a reflective surface, like a black, glossy tile.
Hope that was informative, if not helpful

No, my browser doesn't resize, by design

I think this second one is better then the first actually. Technically they are just about the same (good) but I like the second rose better. And I like the composition better as well.
I really think you should get in the habit of adjusting your images slightly before you publish them though
in less then 2 minutes I did the following to your picture:
- Increaed clarity to about 30.
- Added some contrast. (more highlights)
- Resized it for web.
- Cropped it slightly.
I think that gives it that little extra "pop" that makes it stand out a little bit more, and all that normally doesn't take alot of work / time.
Sidenote:
I feel like I'm being very critical towards you atm, but please keep in mind that I've liked just about every phote you've put out here lately. I'm merely offering tips, not always something you want to listen to, as I can only relay the way I do things. And that's just one of an infinite ways to do it right, there are (almost) no wrongs

Dont let Raiz get you down, Tsingtao2, he uses Nikon.... Much to Raiz hehe Really though, I think he sees a ton of potential in you and is being somewhat "harsh" to try to improve your pics. Dont let any of it get you down, because the pics you have been posting are excellent so far!

thanks I am PS stupid right now. I am taking tutorials online on PS. And since I dont have a single ounce of artistry running through my veins, its hard to visualise outside the camera frame, unless there is a LR or PS template...lol!
