Now if you they could just fire Brett Farve. I wonder what happened to all the people on here supporting the Vikings decision to get Farve, how is that working out for them now? How did that work out for Chilly? You had to see this coming when Farve came to the Vikings last year, even though I will admit it took a little longer to happen than I thought it would, you had to know it would come to this eventually. Now next year the Vikings will be with a first year coach, a brand new quarterback, and an ageing roster. Good bye Superbowl, hello mediocrity.

I knew Childress would get fired eventually because he is a terrible coach. The Vikings weren't a SB contender until they got Favre so of course that was still a good decision. If Favre's bad season sped up the process of firing Childress, that's also a good thing for the Vikings.

The Vikings were a playoff team and a division champ the season before they acquired Farve, so I am going to say they were a contender even without Farve. I will admit he played better than I expected last year, but there is no proof that T Jack or Rosenfels could not have done the same. Regardless how did that season work out for you guys? In the end it built high expectations and when those expectations began to crumble, you wasted a 3rd round pick to try and keep them together. Farve has ruined an otherwise good Vikings roster, and now he is talking about leaving mid season. The Vikings will be without their quarterback and in the middle of a horrible season. Two season later, what looked like a window of opportunity, is now a bottomless pit. Make sure you send Farve a thank you card for this.

its about time..the travesty that the Vikings are right now needs to change. i hope they have a good draft, and take a QB as their #1 pick. Jackson, just doesnt have it in him to be the franchise QB.

I would love for the Vikings to draft Flabbert, that would ensure they will suck for multiple years and I can continue to ride the, "you shouldn't have signed Farve" train for many more years.

Chilly wasn't a horrible coach last year when he was an overtime away from taking the Vikings to the Super Bowl. He wasn't a bad coach several years before that when the teams record improved each year. Funny how fast things change when Favre is around.
They aren't going to bench Favre when he's so close to 300 consecutive starts. The season is lost and they are paying him crazy money, put his butt out there and get as much out of him as you can. You're better off cutting him than benching him. It's a soap opera when he plays, just imagine the fit he would throw on the sidelines and post game.

few more weeks and we will only see Farve from the booth either color commentary, or one of the so-called brain trusts that is on Fox/Espn/CBS/NBC...all of which i cant stand to watch.

It's not all Favre, he's not getting much help. He's earned the right to start and gives them the best chance to win. If he had a proven starter behind him it would be different.
