Boards Archive] |
Welcome to the Vault Network
forum archive.
This is not a complete archive, time didn't allot us the
opportunity to properly backup the majority of the boards
deemed "expendable". Most boards on this list have at least
20-40 pages archived (non-logged in pages, 15 topics per
page).
Popular boards may have as many as 250 pages archived at 50
topics per page, while others deemed of historical
signifigance may be archived in their entirety.
We may not agree with how the board shutdown was managed, but
we've done what we could to preserve some of its history in
lieu of that.
Please enjoy the archive.

AC, Decal, and Dual Client havok failure...

Little backstory, I have been running decal with virindi tank, make it, and go arrow on my Vista64 machine for months with no problems. So I decide to try Ac Dual Client on my Vista64 machine today. I have used this app on many machines over the years, never tried to install it on anything post Windows XP though until today. So I install it, I set it up the same as I always did previously, but it doesn't work. So I get annoyed with it after failing to find any help information on VN (Does the search function on VN even work?). Now when I start up decal, then AC, AC will load, but decal doesn't show up in game. Does anyone know what I need to do(outside wiping my HD and reinstalling everything without Dual Client, which I really don't want to do) so that I can use Decal again? Thanks for any information!

Look at the post a few below this one from Losado. He has a link to a new dual client that he just released. You should be able to uninstall ACDC to get decal working again.

So far I have completely uninstalled AC:DC, uninstalled Decal and reinstalled Decal, and Decal still will not load ingame.

read the very FIRST sticky on this board it has info with links to items needed and post 4 in the thread has step by step instructions for setting up/running under win7
YES, i read you are running vista, but vista has tons of problems (running Ac/decal ect) and your best hope is setting up as if it was win7; e.g. don't install to the default directory make a new one, set properties for decal/plugins to run as administrator (EVEN if you are logged in as admin account).
oh and yes post a decal export. there could be some very important preqs not installed by vista that you need.

This is what I did to install ACDC on my son's laptop that is running Windows 7: -Logan_Conrad- posted: Okay, I got ACDC to install and I'm able to run two clients at the same time. Here's what I did: Installed .NET 1.1 Installed .NET 1.1 SP 1 When I installed both of the above I received a message stating that there are compatibility issues and would I like to continue? I said yes. Right Click on ACDCClient.exe and "Run as Adminstrator." Installed under C:\Games\... instead of C:\Program Files\... Allowed access for the clients on the firewall alert when that popped up. When I start ACDC I get a message that says: "You currently have Process Performance Counters Disabled. ACDCDualClient requires Process Performance Counters to be enabled for it to function properly. Would you like to enable Process Performance Counters?" I select yes and away I go.
