signifigance may be archived in their entirety.
We may not agree with how the board shutdown was managed, but
we've done what we could to preserve some of its history in
lieu of that.

Hey guys, I got a social psych course I am taking this semester. I am working on a political project and being that I am not super in tune with the current political issues of the day, I came here to ask some of you all.
So if you could, list some political issues that are pertinent to the upcoming mid-term elections. These issues could be what you personally feel are pertinent or issues you think are hot button issues that others have concern for. Essentially I want to get a board list of issues for the survey I get to administer later. Appreciate your help.

Not exactly. I'll be voting against those who voted for instituting massive spending during an "economic downturn."
But a big/strong national government isn't really what I'm voting on. It's the national government who in times of instability add more uncertainty with excess regulation and additional cost on employers.

Basically... the teachers in one of our middle schools took up all the school supplies that the parents bought the kids.... and redistributed it so everyone was equal... now that would piss me off, cuz I'd totally deck my kid out in Hello Kitty shit, but the fact that this is happening is pathetic. If you can afford it.. it's yours.. not some crack smoking unemployment drawing parents kids because he's an epic fail. Totally against the 'omg your wealthy... u should give your money to the lessers,' crap.

also I know politically everyone has different priorities and this has a lot to do with the project I am doing.
That being said lets keep any type of debate out of this. Awesome that you guys have kept it to the point so far. Just don't want this thread to become a political debate thread. Thanks!
@Lexi. No I didn't. TBH I haven't kept up with current events and that's one reason why I am asking you all for help. Another is that my political views may not be part of the norm. So I don't want to base a study on my views alone. I don't know if that teacher is trying to push a social agenda but I have a soft heart for kids even if their parents are trash. It's not the kids fault that their parents don't provide. You also gotta remember we are in Floriduh. Where we teach our kids to study the FCAT all year and dismiss any other sort of curriculum but like I said don't want to debate. Just think it sad that kids in FL don't get good education.

omgosh WoW really?
I believe i'm also against Bush (until now) so that makes me a uhm.... racist supreme? honestly... the race card is old. Obama used it to get elected a lot, and people hid behind it long enough. Nobody is getting a few acres and a mule so move on and stop the QQ'ing for reparations.
There are plenty of black people I'd actually like to see as President, Obama isn't one of them. Plus.. he only became black when he started to run as President.
btw - ya know he's gonna pull it for his Dems in November. By bringing 'some' troops home and declaring combat troops are done in Iraq (a year after he said they would when he ran), he did it just in time for some of the early primaries, in November he will help the illegals for the massive hispanic voters to do something on his side. The quickest way to someones heart is to feed em what they want

What they do understand is that foreclosures are probably due to poor minorities getting shit they can't afford and that n* in office is killing small business with his socialist health care.
Lololol, whatever, I'm not voting the next election. If anything, Obama's tenure made it painfully obvious who holds the reigns on this country. Just look at the supreme court campaign finance ruling. I mean, really? Also, I'm sure that illegal immigration, abortion, and gay marriage will continue to be key points in upcoming political debates. You know, because those goddamn gays getting married is what's going to keep us spiraling into the next great depression.
Oh well, I still have a couple years left on my contract with uncle sam. Good luck to everybody else who doesn't have the government signing their paychecks.

Campaign finance reform was a blatant attack on free speech, and the fact that it didn't affect two groups, the NRA and Labor unions made it "painfully obvious" who runs things in here in DC, they made sure what voices they want heard and others who voices might not be so complimentary shut up.
