Subject: AC Dual Client Errors - Time for a New Thread
Ok, after deleting everything and reinstalling AGAIN on a brand spanking new Windows 7 Home Edition 64 bit system:

(1) AC alone in XP(SP3) mode - logs in
(2) AC in XP(SP3) mode plus Decal - logs in
(3) AC in XP(SP3) mode plus Decal plus AC DC:
- first account logs in, second account goes to character screen then "There is a client already running on this machine..."

Perusing the boards extensively, I know that this has been an issue for several people. So I tried some of the notional solutions:

(1) ACDC in XP(SP3) mode: "Core filter is not installed properly..."
(2) ACDC in Admin mode: "Core filter is not installed properly..."
(3) ACDC in XP(SP3) mode AND Admin mode: "Core filter is not installed properly..."

When I ignore the error and proceed, I can still log in one account but trying a second gets me the same error as above.

I tried uninstalling AC DC again and installed it into a different directory (C:\Games\Ac Dual Client2.) Then I used the Basic setup rather than Advanced. It reminded me how helpful the basic setup is, but no improvement.

THIS time it appears that AC DC is not recognizing when I change paths. I tried to set the paths using the "set to" function, but no joy.

I know that several people have encountered this problem - some may have solved it. If you have, PLEASE tell me how. Thanks.

A suggestion -
try installing ACDC in a subfolder of where you have AC installed.
it - C:\games\AC\ACDC

Vista and by extension 7 really dislikes when programs do anything outside of their own directory.
