Boards Archive] |
Welcome to the Vault Network
forum archive.
This is not a complete archive, time didn't allot us the
opportunity to properly backup the majority of the boards
deemed "expendable". Most boards on this list have at least
20-40 pages archived (non-logged in pages, 15 topics per
page).
Popular boards may have as many as 250 pages archived at 50
topics per page, while others deemed of historical
signifigance may be archived in their entirety.
We may not agree with how the board shutdown was managed, but
we've done what we could to preserve some of its history in
lieu of that.
Please enjoy the archive.

AC Dual Client Errors - Time for a New Thread
|
Ok, after deleting everything and reinstalling AGAIN on a brand spanking new Windows 7 Home Edition 64 bit system: (1) AC alone in XP(SP3) mode - logs in (2) AC in XP(SP3) mode plus Decal - logs in (3) AC in XP(SP3) mode plus Decal plus AC DC: - first account logs in, second account goes to character screen then "There is a client already running on this machine..." Perusing the boards extensively, I know that this has been an issue for several people. So I tried some of the notional solutions: (1) ACDC in XP(SP3) mode: "Core filter is not installed properly..." (2) ACDC in Admin mode: "Core filter is not installed properly..." (3) ACDC in XP(SP3) mode AND Admin mode: "Core filter is not installed properly..." When I ignore the error and proceed, I can still log in one account but trying a second gets me the same error as above. I tried uninstalling AC DC again and installed it into a different directory (C:\Games\Ac Dual Client2.) Then I used the Basic setup rather than Advanced. It reminded me how helpful the basic setup is, but no improvement. THIS time it appears that AC DC is not recognizing when I change paths. I tried to set the paths using the "set to" function, but no joy. I know that several people have encountered this problem - some may have solved it. If you have, PLEASE tell me how. Thanks. A suggestion - try installing ACDC in a subfolder of where you have AC installed. it - C:\games\AC\ACDC Vista and by extension 7 really dislikes when programs do anything outside of their own directory.
