Boards Archive] |
Welcome to the Vault Network
forum archive.
This is not a complete archive, time didn't allot us the
opportunity to properly backup the majority of the boards
deemed "expendable". Most boards on this list have at least
20-40 pages archived (non-logged in pages, 15 topics per
page).
Popular boards may have as many as 250 pages archived at 50
topics per page, while others deemed of historical
signifigance may be archived in their entirety.
We may not agree with how the board shutdown was managed, but
we've done what we could to preserve some of its history in
lieu of that.
Please enjoy the archive.

Hi, I can't unselect plugins/filters/anything from Decal. The plugins themselves, Decal, etc, works fine. More than fine, I remember it being a lot slower in the old days. I just don't always want to load every plugin I use.

First... Post an export from your decal. And secondly.. Hmmm.. are you running as admin? Maybe a screenshot would help.. or a more detailed explaniation of your situation (did you just resubscribe and now you're getting a bunch of red x's)??

The installed plugins work just fine. I am the admin and I've tried right clicking decal and running as admin. The only red X after updating Decal, installing msxml and the net frameworks is the Version 1 Plugin Surrogate, which I assume is outdated? I just can't uncheck an addon, or check an addon, or a filter, etc. Here is the export: Decal (DenAgent.exe) version: 2.9.6.0 type, enabled, name, version, clsid Plugins, 1, Virindi Integrator2 Beta, I suggest uninstalling decal then reinstalling it...see if that helps.

Thanks for the reply. I tried that and nada. I tried uninstalling, then uninstalling the dependencies, then reinstalling the dependencies, then reinstalling Decal. Nada.

Were did you install Decal (full path)? Do you have UAC enabled or disabled? Have you tried running decal with and without Run as Admin? Anti Virus installed? If so which one? (some AV and Anti Malware software monitor and prevent registry changes under certain conditions and that may cause weird behaviors)

Thanks for the reply. 1) c:\acserver\decal\ 2) UAC disabled, it is evil. 3) Comodo, Malware Anti-byes, Microsoft Security Essentials. I disabled Comodo's defensive anti-tampering stuff, but didn't know Malware has the same. How do I disable it in Malware?

Unfortunately I don't have Malwarebytes nor MS' Security Essentials so I don't know how to disable them. Also once you figure out how to disable them temporarily and verify that one of them interferes with Decal, instead of having it disabled, see if you can add an exception for decal.

Uninstalled all 3 programs I use (Comodo, MS Essentials, Malware Anti-bytes) and still encounter the same issue. Edit: Issue solved! Comodo does not play well with Decal even after it's been told Decal is okay. It was somehow allowing me to run the plugins and all that, but wouldn't allow me to modify certain areas of Decal. (Namely the window in which you activate or deactivate plugins or filters. Thanks to everyone for replying.

When you select/deselect plug-ins, Decal makes a registry setting(s) change so sounds like Comodo was preventing it from happening. Glad you narrowed it down to Comodo, now either replace it with another AV progy or check it's documentation on how to put Decal as an exception to make registry changes.
