Boards Archive] |
Welcome to the Vault Network
forum archive.
This is not a complete archive, time didn't allot us the
opportunity to properly backup the majority of the boards
deemed "expendable". Most boards on this list have at least
20-40 pages archived (non-logged in pages, 15 topics per
page).
Popular boards may have as many as 250 pages archived at 50
topics per page, while others deemed of historical
signifigance may be archived in their entirety.
We may not agree with how the board shutdown was managed, but
we've done what we could to preserve some of its history in
lieu of that.
Please enjoy the archive.

anyone have any suggestions on recipes using tofu? it's alright if meat is an ingredient as well, i just want tofu to be a main player in the dish.
and does anyone have any ideas on how to infuse some flavor into tofu? do u need to marinate it for days or something like that?

tofu picks up the flavor of whatever you are cooking so no need to marinate it for days. i like a stir fry of veggies, all grated or cut match stick, and the same w/ the tofu. i also like it in the egg rolls i get. the Buddhist Temple i go to for lunch sometimes is vegetarian. they use tofu in a lot of dishes from soups to main courses, fritters, egg rolls..etc. as for recipes, no i don't have those. i just wing it?

thanks for those recipe ideas. for some reason when i stir fry tofu even with veggies or meat i still taste the bland "tofu" flavor. but at a thai food stall i went to the other day there was a dish with rice and stir fried tofu + veggie and the tofu chunks by themselves actually had a GOOD taste to it. tasted like garlic and red peppers.
i need to find out how to infuse that level of strong flavor into the tofu. maybe i need to sautee the tofu in a ton of olive oil + chilis + garlic or something and then just toss out the garlic at the end.
